Break fluid everywhere, launching caliper pistons across the garage and bleeding the break system over night. What a pain this project was! The rebuild went good and the Tusk kit was great. Definitely my least favorite project so far. Looking forward to all the new parts coming in the mail in the next few weeks!

Did the exact same thing with one of my XRs on instead of rebuilding it I just replaced the caliper because it was totally cactus. Following your rebuild is very interesting I also have a 1994 XR but it's actually a XR250L strikingly similar color scheme from the frame Shasta white.

Nice to follow you along the rebuild. I love XRs. I had 4 of them and planning on buying a 650L soon. I wonder what you will do with the frame though...

Thanks for checking out the project! My plan for the frame is to use this old sand blaster I got from my grandpa. First, I want to ride the bike before stripping it to the frame. We’ll see!

@@Preacher402 Alright! Yeah, stripping the bike is a bigger job! Good idea, let's make it run properly first. Did you see any holes in the frame or is it just surface rust?
