One positive I can say about it, the lines on Sedna's fingers seem to hint at her origin, where they were broken and the blood from them leaked into the ocean and created sea life.

It probably wasn't originally a mockbuster. The American distributor just renamed it to cash in on Frozen, and so Americans would give two glances towards a foreign movie.

Thanks to finding out that this movie was based off of "an original idea by Pierre Tremblay", it's safe to say that it may have a connection with a series of Hong Kong produced Transformers dubs. For clarification, Pierre Tremblay was one of the few voice actors in these dubs, notably voicing Optimus Prime and Cyclonus in Transformers Headmasters, among many other characters in that show and its two successors Tarnsformers: Super God Masterforce and Transformers Victory

Is it a bad thing that I actually want to see this film now? I mean, mocked up name besides, this seems like an interesting premise and is NOT a Frozen copy. And besides the obviously supernatural elements, (smoke monster, intelligent rodents, magical Shangri La, and the like) it seems a fairly accurate representation of Inuit life. (hunting, village closeness, and storing food, the dress, their values and culture (except maybe the shaman who reminds me of Scar) It kinda has me interested and intrigued.

@Michael Ryall What was the point of your comment? Seriously, I don't know what to make of it. My guess is you're either sincere or it was intended as backhanded criticism towards LGBT representation in pop-culture media. Or am I missing something else entirely?
@scitechian
@scitechian 4 жыл бұрын
@@JanetStarChild It's a very clever twofold reference, actually: (1) When Frozen came out, a lot of people liked how Elsa ended up without a man and yet happy in her own way, and they wanted Disney to explicitly state that Elsa was a lesbian and to make sure she had a female love interest in the inevitable sequel. (Of course, she was asexual, but asexual characters are just less interesting to people on the internet.) (2) Sedna, the Inuit goddess responsible for the bounty of sea creatures that the Inuit depend on for food, is most commonly said to have repeatedly refused to marry, causing her father to row her out to sea and dump her in the open ocean. When she tried to climb back into the boat, he chopped her fingers off.

yeah, its a throwaway movie, but I like how a third-rate animation company would have their story about Inuits actually star characters who look, dress, and act like Inuits and never deviate from that.
