Autopilot is useful if you don’t connect joystick or game controller for any reason. Boeing 747 can do nice acrobatics with the autopilot, even little children can handle it, and they will be amazed. The plane is safe, doesn’t try to crash, if kids miss their moves, the plane may not crash.

one more thing. is altitude and altimeter the same thing? if not, how do you set altimeter in a 737?

***** so when atc says "altimeter 2992" how would you set that since altitude is measured by hundreds on the autopilot altitude indicator?

For long overnight flight can I just turn on gps mode as you did then go to sleep for the night, let the game fly and complete my flight In the morning? ATC usually tells me to change my heading or altitude and if I don’t they yell at me and terminate my IFR flight plan. How do I fix the problem so I don’t have to be up every 15 minutes changing heading and listening to ATC?
@JacksFSVideos
@JacksFSVideos 6 жыл бұрын
It's certainly possible to do that if you don't use ATC at all. Otherwise, you'd need to climb to your cruising altitude, turn on LOC to follow the GPS and then they won't tell you to adjust anything. However, they will still point out traffic and tell you to change frequencies every now and again which will need a response

hey jack, hope you are doing well. Wanted to know something, in the b737, to keep the ground speed more than 400knots, i have to set my airspeed at more than 380knts. And due to that my fuel gets burned more. I do that just because in real life, all the flights have the ground speed of more than 400 knots, but their airspeed is below 300knots. Even yours is below 300knots and gs is above 400 knots. What should I do? should i do any changes in weather? PS:- I set my weather as fair weather.
@JacksFSVideos

Don’t worry about ground speed when you’re flying - pilots don’t. Just set your airspeed to what it needs to be at each stage of the flight :)

is there communications from tower or elsewhere can't seem to get any for fsx f5-e. also can't print out headings etc from flight plan. any help would be terrific. thanks
@JacksFSVideos
@JacksFSVideos 6 жыл бұрын
Yeah you communicate with the tower. You don't have to print them out, you can just write them down on some paper, if you can't print it, it's most likely a problem with your printer connecting FSX

At 10:20 in the video, when you typed, "EGGW". That was an airport in London. How would you find that for a different airport?
@JacksFSVideos

I see what you mean. I usually find them on Wikipedia. If you just search for the airport on Wikipedia, in the right column of its page, should be the ICAO codes.

Do you use a entire setup or just a keyboard and mouse for this? If you use one of the ones that simulate the flight (like the throttle brakes etc.) what do you use?

I personally purchased the Saitek Yoke from Amazon.co.uk, however, it's available from a variety of retailers. You can just Google the name and loads will come up. Hope this helps!

hey all. what's the difference between heading and course?
@typingsquirrel2128
@typingsquirrel2128 2 жыл бұрын
heading is like the compass direction so the direction the nose is pointing, and course is the direction the aircraft travels over the ground which means that it will travel in the right direction even in strong winds. its kinda hard to explain without a diagram but maybe search one up sorry

At around 8:33, why does the vertical pink line of the FD only shift very slightly left of center, even when heading is drastically off in terms of angle? The pink vertical line does not even tell you how much to roll the aircraft, right?
@JacksFSVideos
@JacksFSVideos 6 жыл бұрын
Actually it does move left and right, just much slower than the horizontal line. At 8:08 it's over to the left, if you keep watching to 9:38, it's more centre-right, and even before I made that right turn, it was centre. If you keep the central dot on the cross-hairs of both lines that will determine your rate or turn as well
@gluino
@gluino 6 жыл бұрын
If you kept central dot on the both lines beginning at around 8:33, wouldn't it take ages before the plane's heading reaches the HDG bug?
@JacksFSVideos
@JacksFSVideos 6 жыл бұрын
No because the nose also moving up assists in turning the aircraft much faster
@gluino
@gluino 6 жыл бұрын
But the pink lines do not indicate roll angle. When the vertical pink line is so close to center, it would be easy to center on them using only yaw+pitch.
@JacksFSVideos
@JacksFSVideos 6 жыл бұрын
No not angle, but it does indicate a turn, the bank angle always has the same maximum of usually 30 degrees. And a pilot simply knows not use the rudder on the air except in emergencies and some crosswind landings

So......... 1. The flight FD(pink cross) tells me where (ALT SPD HDG I set) to go (manually) 2. If I turn on the autopilot master switch, aircraft go to that ALT/SPD/HDG automatically. 3. If I made a flight plan data, and switch NAV to GPS, aircraft would follow the route that I already made. Right? Because I'm not good at English, I need your feedback guys
@JacksFSVideos
@JacksFSVideos 4 жыл бұрын
1 . Yes (but doens't tell you about SPD) 2. Yes (as long as each switch is on as well) 3. Yes (as long as the Nav switch is on)

FL410 is the service ceiling for the Boeing 737 series. It struggles to keep level there, and later. Don't go that High, could result in a deep stall. That level is used only for aircraft testing and isn't safe =)
