In this video, I explain what Atmospheric Pressure is, and how it affects the Altimeter when flying. You'll also learn how to adjust the Altimeter to adapt to changes in air pressure.

Doofer, when I started getting flight sim a few months ago I was quite lost as to where to start to learn. Although there are many information out there, none are as organize and easy to understand as yours. I am so glad to found this amazing playlist. I wish it would be more widely receive, and more people starting flight sim can learn from this playlist Thank you Doofer!!

Since you are on the ground at Aberdeen and the altimeter is reading 210 ft if you were trying to land on the same runway at the same time, and you're descending to land would you not think that you still have 210 ft to go (if you forgot that the airport elevation was 210ft) before you touch down? You hear jets reading out the your distance from the ground and if the jet was to take the reading from the altimeter you would crash land at 210ft thinking you still have 210 ft to go. I hope I am making sense in my question?

Hi, doofer. I don't undestand how you reach the 1010 value starting from the 31ft elevation of the airport. Thanks for your work. My bible.

So I got that because I set the Altimeter to the QFE. When you do that, you set the Altimeter so that the Altitude reads 0ft, your focus is on getting the Altitude to 0ft. With QNH, your focus is on getting the correct pressure setting.
