How to Crochet a Bikini Top for Mermaid Outfit

In this video I demonstrate how to crochet a bikini top for a mermaid outfit for a baby. This will fit any baby up to 18 months.. Watch my other video to show how to make a Starfish headband for this outfit to make it all come together!

I did mine exactly like you did same yarn same hooks but it seems smaller especially the fin and the top. I added pearls to the tail which looks really good.

On row 10 you said to single crochet in the first 9 stitches and then decrease but you counted 10 and then did a decrease, which one is it?

That's where she messed up. Just do 9 and decrease the last two and ignore her counting from then on

Tip: on row 10 she makes an error and SC 10 instead of 9. Just do 9 and ignore her counting from there on. On row 14 she does it twice. Sit through her second row 14 without working it and just wait till she gets to row 15. She ends up with too many stitches and one extra row and it looks wonky if you copy her. Also if you want it to be a newborn- 3months size I suggest using a 2.75 mm hook. Or for 3-6 months use a 3.5 mm hookEnjoy!

Crochet mermaid tail tutorial was awesome. Wondering if something is off with the instructions with the shell bikini, this is my fifth attempt and it never ever turns out right... :.-(

yes its off.she even has to correct it. she crochets the extra stitch in with another. I had the same problem until i read the written pattern. Nadia is awesome I have followed all her videos and I am now doing her granny squares. Keep it up Naddy.

Just FYI, if you want this to actually fit a newborn baby, size down a LOT. Otherwise it's gonna be way too big :)

I have never been so frustrated with my crochet. you go way to fast for beginners and you need to edit out your mistakes. it makes it super confusing for people who are just learning and have a hard time reading patterns
