Just to clarify Only Gold's comment, transplanted hair never falls out, not if they have been extracted from the correct areas in the donor area of the scalp, it will last a lifetime if done properly.

If this patient had undergone Scalp micropigmentation first I believe these current results would have looked much better. Although you can see that new hair has grown in, there is still a thinning factor going on here.

Hi David, that's a great question and one that I'm sure many individuals wonder about. Eventually this client's hair loss will progress and he may need to replace the hair that has fallen out, that's why he's choosen to have a FUE surgery as opposed to a strip. FUE is the process of removing groupings of 1-3 hair follicles at a time from the donor area, which are then transplanted to the balding area, FUE helps to leave your options open for the future since it allows for further extraction of hair from the donor area in the future if you should choose to replace hair that's fallen out over time.

New density at top and back look great. I need to have this done. I'm a little concerned about these very dense frontal hairlines though, as it doesn't look natural to me. Maybe if the line was little less discernible.

Hello, generally speaking the hair at the back does not grow back, however if the procedure is performed correctly the donor area should not look any different, that's the big advantage of the FUE method, it does not leave any scar or trace of donor hair removal, it's more like microsurgery, all incisions are very tiny and heal up within days. Also with regards to being ok to work outside in construction, once you've healed (a few days) you can do anything you would ordinarily do, no problems.

He has a lighter color skin, those scars are not noticable, i would like to see the surgery done on a darker skin, are there going to be a lot of poke dot scars?

Hello Zubeir, what you are referring to is called "strip surgery", and really that type of surgery has become somewhat obsolete with the advent of FUE hair transplants where they only take out one follicular unit at a time from the donor area leaving just tiny little incisions which heal up within a few days and do not leave a trace. What type of transplant is this because in most of the videos I see the surgeon cuts out a strip from the back side of the persons head and extracts the hair from that. I'm thinking about getting an hair transplant but not the kind were I have to get cut from the back of my head.

Hello James, no there should not be any scars in the receiving site, if there are then that is poor work. The donor site may have a vertical scar if you elected strip surgery, and if you decide to have FUE done then their shouldn't be any noticeable scars on the donor area, they should be so small that once your hair grows just a little bit they are virtually impossible to see.

If you look closely to the video you can see the small white spots on the back of the head from the removal of the hair follicles.

hello I have hair that looks like the after photo, I was born with hair that isn't all that dense. I was wondering if I used the fue technique can I achieve the same density hair as normal people? I don't know what my condition is called.

sniperdesi23 Hello, the best way to get an estimate would be to fill out the Online consultation form at surehairtransplants.com There are a few different factors that effect the final estimate so the specialist will ask you for a set of photographs to be able to document it and provide an accurate quote for you, the other issue as that some people simply do not make good candidates for a hair transplant so we are very selective with who we accept as a patient, so I would hate to give you the wrong advice here without a full analysis, but thank you for your inquiry.

Hello sir, what is your opinion on the so called 'pits' on the skin at the recipient area? I am two months now after the FUE surgery and my skin still looks quite 'irregular'. Should I expect them to eventually go away? Thank you in advance. Cheers

Filip Luneski Hello, Filip, it is still very early on in the process, so please bear that in mind before taking my advice as a concrete analysis, that being said when we see a transplant where the grafts look puckered or the transplanted area looks "pitted" as you termed in your question above, it generally indicates that the grafts have been planted too deeply in the scalp, that they were not flush with the skin when implanted so now there is a small "dimple" at each graft implantation site. I would give it some time before being certain since some people just heal a little differently then others and perhaps that is what you are experiencing currently, if the dimples are not gone by the 4-5 months then I think that unfortunately the pits may be a permanent characteristic of the transplant surgery.

What is your opinion on supplementing this look with SMP? I've seen some amazing cases of it, and for very short haircuts it seems like a great option.

jnixa1010 Hello, I've not seen the final result of someone having combined both methods, I imagine that if both were well done it may look very good, my main concern would be what happens once the patient get's older and their hair is graying and the SMP is dark brown or some other relatively dark color, I think that might look rather odd..

Sure Hair International Ive wondered that as well. Although, couldn't transplanted hair have the same issue? If the hair at the back of the heads is dark, but the top or sides grey,they wouldn't match, correct? I guess you could address this by dyeing it...

jnixa1010 Generally speaking we find there isn't a whole lot of discrepancy between the graying rate & pattern of hair at the top and sides of the head and at the back. Generally when someone is graying they have gray hairs showing up all over, and occasionally there is a concentration of graying hair at the temples or middle of the hairline. We have not studied these patterns in great detail so please do not take this as scientific fact, but we are under the assumption that the graying is often a result of blood flow and supply patterns and since the new follicle is also subject to the same blood flow pattern the graying of hair should follow the same pattern. So far we have not had a case that looks unusual in that regard.

jnixa1010 works well. SMP is also greyish in tone so it suits greying hair, but SMP operators can be shoddy. Wild west.

No it's not necessary, the transplanted hair is immune to the process which causes male pattern baldness, however you want to continue using it, that should be fine as well.

Sure Hair International Now I'm conflicted... I'm 18 years old, and know for a fact that I won't have enough money for surgery within the next 1-7 years (especially because I'm going to Uni soon). I've been told that S5 creams, nizoral, minoxidil, etc etc etc, is all necessary to help keep your hair, even after you get a procedure done? Certified doctors tell me (and others) that if you were to just stop taking them, you could still get a transplant at NW6-7, but it would be nowhere near as effective if you had done it earlier. I've seen videos of "successful" NW7 transplants, where the man still has the front half of his hairline missing because there were no more reliable grafts to pull from.

lets say you transplant 1500 pieces in the new area but what if the patient lose more hair through the next few years in the treated area? will it be possible to take more hair from another area and plant it?

Hello Geo, one of the main advantages of well done fue hair transplant, or even a well done strip procedure, if the donor area heals well then certainly you can get many more grafts, we have done clients who were very bald up top and we've pulled as much as 6500 grafts in one session. It also depends on the patient's hair characteristics as well, some people have baldness but their remaining area is very dense, others perhaps have less density. someone was telling me that fue is prone to have weak grafts thatn stripe, i do see you guys dont have a location in the us

Geo Von Lengerke Hi GEO, we have never had a FUE patient that had any problem with "weak grafts" or otherwise, properly done FUE produces an extremely thick natural looking hair transplant. Of course there is always the possibility that the graft may be damaged during extraction, and that is a potential danger during both strip and FUE hair transplantation procedures, that can happen and that's why it's important to go with a very experienced clinic / doctor. DeadMoNeyProductions BP Hi Brian we do not require our patients to use rogaine after the surgery, the hair we transplant is not affected by DHT. If you would like to use rogaine after the surgery that'st totally up to you and not a problem.

Hello David, average price per graft varies from $3 up to $8 depending on the type of surgery you elect and the size of the procedure, FUE is much more labor intensive which is why it is more costly, but then again the benefit of FUE is that there will be no linear scar left over, our strip surgery is less expensive and although there will be a linear scar at the back if you elect strip surgery we do employ a trichophytic closure technique which really helps to reduce the width of the scar to bare minimum, about 3mm width is average.

Hello, eventually the white spots will become less visible, the skin over spots is new and not been exposed to much sun which would help tan the new skin and give it a completion similar to the surrounding skin color. But also he has shaved his hair super, super short in this video, if had it just a tiny bit longer the spots would be completely invisible even at this early stage. Our new Artas robotic fue hair transplant is even better and more precise, leaving almost no visible dot pattern at all.

Bob Swaggett thanks Bob, that's certainly an option as well, the thing that concerns me about the new tattoos is what happens when you're older and your hair changes color? To gray but you still have black tattoos on your scalp, maybe on a very limited basis?
