Fuel filter change on Volvo D3/D4/D5 (5-cyl diesel engine)

Күн бұрынIn this video, I will walk you through changing you fuel filter on your diesel Volvo. This service should be done every 60 000 kilometres. You can use jackstands or rails, whatever works for you. Filter is located in front of the rear wheel on the passenger side. I imagine the same instructions can be used for D4 or D5 engine, not sure abour 4-cylinder diesels. Also works for other models (V70, S80, XC70, etc. with five cylinder diesel engines - the filter is located at the same place).

You can always use 18 spanner to release draining plug and avoid spillage of diesel...😎

Yes! Got to know only a few days after doing this...Now I am smarter, also managed to install VIDA official software with all the service information. I could get the smell of the diesel out of my work jacket for almost two weeks :-D hah

Working on two family cars at the moment. Mercedes and Volvo. Got to give one thing to the mercedes: service items like these are easy access and tought out. Unlike my soon to be wifes volvo, that has messy engineering like this! Not to mention the blower motor that took me ages to swap too. 😂

I have a 2.0 d3 5cylinder from 2013, will it be in the same loaction as in your video? And can I use a jack to perform the change?

Klidně 🙂 A chtěl by si na tom pracovat sám, nebo to udělat? Dělám i taková školení na základní práce jako olej apod. Spolu to zvedneme, uděláme olej a filtry. Díly můžu zajistit od kamaráda z autodílů se slevou - značky dle vlastního výběru 😉

Does anyone know if the filter location is the same for unleaded Fuel filter on a 2012 Volvo S60 T5 ?

Hi! I am not sure if fuel filter on petrol versions can be replaced. Usually petrol versions have it integrated in the fuel tank and it is lifetime, because petrol is generally way cleaner that diesel. Don't know about this certain model and motorization though.

@@drivewaycz Thanks. Apparently Volvo doesn't know either. They sold me the oem filter but they can't tell me for sure where the filter is located.
