Another random day in 1988. I was happy with life. So I loaned out my $1000 camcorder to a friend out of being nice. But the guy back stabs me. Returns it broken. This typical of how some people done me.

Is there anyone else in the world with this much footage of every day life of the 80s and 90s?...I don't think so. Nobody did this back then. Who could forsee the future of the world wide net to broadcast them worldwide? That's what makes these videos so valuable. And to document your life up until now and into the future will make the whole collection more valuable 30 years from now. "60 years of video recorded life (VLOG) starting in the 80s".No one else in the world can accomplish that but Gilbert. I'm tellin ya!!!

Right. I'm pretty sure all this will be put in a government info box in the future. They do that so they can always have a good idea of what time was like at a certain era.

I love Hector's Z! I drove my Mom's roommate's 280ZX a few times in the 80's. In 1996 I got a 1990 300ZX, then in 2007 I got a 2003 350Z, which I'm still driving! Great cars.

@@fueledbymusic3 oh yes that year I was dating a woman who was living with my best friend at the time - they were sharing an apartment in Tujunga... she was his then new roommate and I misguidedly fell in love with her. We started dating, being intimate together. But I was still stuck in Covina and couldn't make it out to see her or my friend very often. Also she like me was a Rock musician who was close friends with the Wilson sisters from Heart, the guys in Dokken, Aerosmith, Ted Nugent, etc and in my friend's complex real rock stars also lived there. Ted Nugent's singer Derek St. Holmes being of them. Lots of alcohol and 80s party favors were involved in the relationship too so needless to say it was a tumultuous one especially in 1988...

@@fueledbymusic3 Do you remember Hanich Music? Did you know Tim Gaines from Stryper and Stephen Williams (Stormer and Great White) were still working there in the mid to late 80s? Oz Fox was from Glendora but he was a fixture at that Red Onion in West Covina. I used to see him there all the time.

I read your description and the exact same thing happened with the camcorder my grandpa bought in the I think early or mid morning 80s it looked just like yours. My grandpa let someone borrow it and they returned it broken😒

These are great videos and I value them... but what saddens me that the United States of America is always getting worse and the years pass... not better. We have more and more technology and conveniences which brings some sort of happiness but it is a temporary short term gratification happiness... overall all of us yearn for simpler times... like us who yearn for the 80’s and like our grandparents who yearned for for the late 19th century... something is terribly wrong and we are headed to somewhere we collectively do not want but forced upon us very slowly. I
