Just bought the X-H1 for just under 1200$ incl. the grip and two extra batteries. And it's not just one store that have the bundle for that price, it seems like Fuji has dropped the price dramatically. Of course it is 1.5 years older now, but seen in the light that the Sony A7 III still costs 2150$ here in Sweden, the Fuji + grip bundle seems like pretty much camera for the money to me - and I also have a bunch of Fuji lenses since earlier. Edit: BTW - these extensive reviews are really a treat for tech nerd like me - I look at pretty much all of them, regardless if I am interested in the camera at hand or not. Keep up the good work! :)

Keep up the great reviews both of you. You're the only channel I know of that provides such objective, up-to-date and detailed reviews and I love watching them. By the way, being in the UK I'm loving the 1:1 conversion ratio for $:£ when it comes to camera prices, haha. ;)

I love the size of the xh1. It's easier to hold and if you have to plug away all day, it's a lot more comfortable than other fuji cameras.

Another great vid guys, always a pleasure ! I own an XT2 and even though the XH1 provides IBIS, touch screen and bigger grip (which were my minor complains from XT2), I will not upgrade. I am interested to see what Fuji is preparing for their XT3 :) I doubt Fujifilm would listen to my wish list but here it is for XT3 : - bigger battery - deeper grip - IBIS - BSI sensor for better low light performance - XH1 evf - larger buttons What do you have in store for us next Gordon & Doug ? Some Sony A7mark3 ? Some Lumix GX9 ? I understand it takes time for you to make it happen, but I already can't wait for the next one ! haha Thank you guys, love your content !

For static vlogging, use the remote app and use a phone as a monitor. On a small stand it works at same level as camera. Thanks Gordon. Been a fan since 2010 and Doug, all the best!

There is exposure compensation. Push small button next to shutter release and turn the wheel. Best camera ever

Gordon - The “street price” of the X-H1 from B&H Photo is only $1,649. And as of 8/22 B&H has a used X-H1 available for about $1,400 (9+ Condition).

Excellent review...I was hot to get A73 over this, but more images I see by Sony, more I steer towards X-H1. Sony is got long way yet, to get skin tons right. A73 is excellent on paper, but I'm not convinced to go for it, yet.

Brilliant review guys. I've had the X-H1 for about a week as my first Fujifilm camera, and I learned a thing or two here which I hadn't picked up by myself or from being 1/3 through the manual.

Hi Gordon The horizontal panning IBIS option that Doug mentions is not only "optical lens stabilisation" as you call it around 44min. Sorry, but I have to agree with Doug. At least my EM1.2 (with 12-40/2.8) has this as an option "wrench > C2 > Image Stabilizer" where you can choose all axis, horizontal disabled, vertical disabled.

The problem isn't with vloggng with hybrid cameras. The problem is that every reviewer is essentially vlogging with a hybrid and they criticize EVERY single camera for not having a flippy screen and whatever else is a priority for them. A bigger problem is that only a few people give measured and balanced reviews. The result is that manufacturers who watch these reviews get a skewed perspective of what's on demand from potential buyers. To expand on that, every photographer who wants to add a voice to the choir essentially becomes a vlogger by using youtube, so there is a clear bias towards flippy screens and whatever else.

Gordon, you mentioned the ability to charge the X-H1's battery via Micro USB as a new feature, however I have always been able to charge my X-T2 over Micro USB. In fact it's on charge right now

Hi, just on the app issues, it still seems to be a pain in march 2021, also when I used sony I had the app on more than one device and also at a prom told people what app to search for and sent them the pics, I doesn't seem possible to do that with fuji, great KZfaq channel 👍

I don't mind long videos but long as they're focused and not full of off-topic rambling -- Also side note you forgot to mention it has dual processors. One is primarily used for ibis but can be used for other things as well (unless I missed you saying that)

Regarding the Bluetooth functionality, it is now completely revamped and updated with newer firmware.

Hi Guys, just to back Doug on a point he mentioned re the switchable stabilisation, my Panasonic G80/85 has the vertical only mode he spoke of that can be utilised when shooting video. Obviously it would also work when shooting a panorama shot. Just thought you'd like to know.

Thank you for the excellent review. I think you covered all of the pros and cons perfectly. I am looking to move to mirrorless from my full frame Canon and so wanted to go to Fujifilm, but this camera is very disappointing compared to the competitors, the Sony A73 in particular. The battery is just ridiculous. Having to strap 3 batteries onto the body, making it probably bigger than my 5D3, to get a descent battery life and full function, is BAD. Then there is the focusing system. The Fujifilm cameras and lenses are beautifully made, but they have fallen too far behind the leading edge with this brand new flagship camera. I think they need to start releasing some rumours of a more promising X-T3 before they lose to many potential customers. I would love to see Fujifilm do well. They are a great company and would be better to deal with than some others.

Hi Gordon and Doug, fantastic review as always. I also wish they had taken the opportunity to upgrade to a bigger battery system like Sony; however, what is done is done. What I really would like to see is for Fuji to develop a new one piece battery cartridge for the battery grip like the Canon 1DX, Nikon D5 or the D850 grip battery with equivalent of 4 or more times of one W126S power. That would bring relief to the pain of running out of batteries or the need of changing batteries during all day shooting especially during cold winter days. I would buy two of those in a heartbeat and sell most of the W126S batteries!I work in a camera store so as much as I am tempted to switch to Sony full frame system like A9, A7R III and now A7 III, when I play with the Sony system the balance it just off and so is the pricing. The little things Fuji provides like: easier access dials and menu system, weather sealed body, stronger build, scratch resistance paint (I see plenty of scratched up Sony A7 series in the used section), higher resolution and clarity EVF, smooth and quick response shutter release button, super quiet and almost vibration free mechanical shutter, cheaper lens pricing, super lightweight and high quality glass on small prime lenses makes the system well balanced.I sold my Canon 5D3 due to heavy full frame lenses for X-T2 and sold the X-T2 for X-H1 now and been able to shoot handheld real estate photos with a 10-24mm (f5.6 = f8 full frame) at 1/4 and 1/2 second consistently without carrying a tripod is a dream come true for any real estate photographer (or any photographer!!). Sony system would be more expansive, not as wide (on a heavier but closer weight and size of 16-35mm f/4 lens), not as weather sealed, not as vibration damped or body/lens balanced, not as often firmware updated system. IMHO sensor quality along is not the be all and end all for a camera system (even though they sound very impressive), it's the little things that Fuji did not cheap out on the consumer that helps the system to be more user friendly, stabilized and balanced that matters to me. Again, IMHO.

Thank you guys. I have mentioned the body is too large, I got people angry at me. I said the battery was too small. They call me trolling. I would have purchase the XH1 if the body is smaller and the battery larger, but I'll wait for now.

Excellent review! I agree with all of the points you made - especially about your concerns for lack of improvement in the battery - and agree that the XH-1 is at best a marginal improvement over the XT-2. However, it is only $300.00 more than the XT-2. So, the question is, is it$300.00 better than the XT-2? A second question would be if one is considering going with Fuji at the XT-2/XH-1 level is it worth it to spend the extra $300 for a camera, which at its worst, preserves (mostly) what is good about the XT-2 and adds at least some enhancements (IBIS, better grip, better video performance)?

What’s your thoughts on this camera now that it’s been reduced to $999.00 US. That’s with battery grip and 3 batteries?

New subscriber here ! In mostly end the of 2019, after many hours of research i think that's the one for me . Is it the best ? i dont care if it is or not ! who define what's best !? ... For my need here in my sometimes cold and shitty weather where i like to shoot and perhaps pull a video under rain and snow, (Montreal that is) i think this one can handle these extreme still being careful with . The canon 90d came up this week and kinda disturbed my toughts and still is but should i take more time for more info about it ?... finnaly your reviews brought me here and helped me a lot. How many stops of improvement do you get with IBIS on and IOS on in a lens with IOS?

I think the XH1 is too expensive when compared to the A7III. 100 quid extra gets you a huge amount more! I have the XT2 and X100F which I dearly love, but I don't think I could justify the extra money for the XH1 especially when there are more compelling bodies out there at the same point.

It's very tempting now that it is down to $999 with grip and two extra batteries. Also I have read that the IBIS was improved with a firmware update. I would love to have that IBIS with my prime lenses. Even if an X-H2 is released, it may be much more expensive.

Ya' dead right mate! Not the best I've heard at Aussie twang (24 min / 40 secs) but I'll forgive ya' for hav'n a crack aye. Afterall you are a Pom so it's all good. I am a tad late to the party as I am upgrading from an XT2 I bought 7 years ago but having a 'feel' of the XH2 in my local camera store @ Brisbane (July 2023) just feels way too plastic and 'toy' which is NOTHING like the previous X series bodies before it. I don't know where Fuji are going with this but I don't like it not to mention I think they have lost touch or dare I say 'Focus' even though yes the XH2 nails it in their latest AF algorithms/ AI. I understand they are going lighter and keeping up with the higher video specs for contemt creators but they've really lost touch with their stills roots which is a real shame. Where I am going with this is I like a bit of weight to my gear including in glass as to me it screams better build quality, besides coming from an EOS system of the mid to late 90's I am use to a bit of 'beef' in my gear. In saying that though I hope to invest in an Xpro series body for travel / street & family shooting situations where I require a lighter set up. I do hope the Xpro4 does drop come late 2023 or early 2024 with any luck and that stays 'true' to a photography ONLY design with maybe a real basic video operation. Anyway, great in-depth review by you fine 'lads' or as I would say here down under 'blokes' I've thoroughly enjoyed the discussion.

Hi! Your a great inspiration in my photography. I need some really great advice right now, I have a Canon 5D4 + 24-70 f/2.8 which I bought for paid wedding assignments jobs. Due to some reasons I have left the photography job and the gear is sitting in my almirah collecting dust. I don't think I need that expensive gear now and is only blocking money. But still I have a lot of passion for photography and want to make short films. I need advice on should I sell my current gear and buy a cheaper gear like sony or fuji mirrorless?

Why doesn't FUJI place clips on the body so that one can simply clip on the strap instead of the silly current arrangement.......PENTAX 6X7 had this since early 1970s.......isn,t this nicer,more practical and simpler all round ??? It,s really mind boggling why such improvements are not considered when XH1 was designed ? They hv it for GFX 50 model.

Very nice video. I would like to buy you a coffee. But our country has banned paypal. F... politics. Here is my question Gordon & Doug. I love my XF 16-55 mm lens. And I currently have the XT2. But the XT2 and the 16-55mm is quite a mismatch. Physical wise. So I bought the battery grip. Now it is so to say ok. But I really want to know if the IBIS worth the upgrade?

100 percent the evf cant go back the a73 is really shaken things up full frame evf and.....a lot the extra reach and weight and price of the mft lenses so rarely mentioned love my pan 100 to 300 which becomes 600 mm full frame eat mft dust full frame.If they can get some fast light lenses wow return serve a73?

As per usual you guys are nitpicking. The bottom line is does a camera take great photos and video. No camera fits everyone’s needs.

Man, what a negative review. I'm so glad I never watched this until now. If I had watched it before I bought my two X-H1 bodies (about a month ago), I may have never bought them! I sold off my two X-T2's so I could have my 16-55 and 90mmF2 stabilised. I am so stoked, FOR ME the X-H1 is absolutely brilliant. I just love the feel of it, the grip, that magical shutter, the beautiful images and the extra weather sealing and heft. I have been shooting for over 30 yrs now and was sad when I had to sell my beautiful Nikon D3X (too heavy with the 70-200), and opted for the smaller Fuji system. That was yrs ago and after slowly moving up from X-Pro1, Xe2, X-T1, X-T2 - I'm feeling I've finally arrived with the X-H1 bodies. I can actually say now after all of these years I've found a camera I like even more than my D3X!! I don't wish for anything else, they focus fast, reliable, batteries don't worry me, I just carry a few spares, and now I have image stabilisation my images are so much sharper (especially on the 90mm). I think you could have concentrated a little more on some of the positives Gordon and not make the few negative things sound so dire. Non of them are deal-breakers! Philip

With respect - just buy a Sony Gordon. The X-H1 is a superb camera that makes great PICTURES. I could not care less about video, I want a camera to take still images and that is what the X-H1 does. If I want to buy a HIFI I would look at Sony but buying a camera I will stick with a company that makes great cameras and understands photography.

No mention of the Olympus Em-1 as a competitor?
