I wish the episodes were at least an hour long. I feel like the Judge never gets to say everything she's thinking fully, though she does give some BOMB ass advice, the ends always seem rushed to me.

About people being naturally wise. Certainly, I can be wrong. However, I believe that in order to make prudent decisions, one must have experiences to draw from. For sure, there are people who do not have to touch fire, to know that it burns. That said, I presume that they've seen others get hurt by getting too close to fire.

There is a save place where they can look the danger in the eye, to overcome bad emotions and realize i'm save. On the one Hand can First Person Shooters put you in control. On the other can Horror Games (like Amnesia) give you a loss of control feeling. I like games where you have to solve puzzles and to help the character to survive. Even kids play through their Trauma, e.g. after accidents. First they play that their toy dies. Later it survives in a Hospital. From a Dead End to a Happy End.

This is one of the best episodes - especially hearing what Heather had to say at the end of the show, which was a small window into what it's like living with someone who suffers from PTSD. I think it opened Chris' eyes as well. Luck and love to the both of them.

If I had a dollar for every time this particular situation was misunderstood, I would have a whole lot of dollars. I too am a disabled veteran diagnosed with PTSD. But things are not always what they seem to be. Gaming is soothing to him because it is familiar. His behavior is not the problem, it is a clue. PTSD in combat soldiers is also a clue. A symptom of traumatic brain injury or TBI. We often get so preoccupied with analyzing behaviors, we often overlook where such behaviors come from. We so desire the behavior to simply stop, we don’t go far enough to find the root cause which for most combat veterans of conflicts, past and present, is the injury to the brain. And the way brain injury, that cannot be seen by the observer by the way, manifests itself is through behavior. Most of these veterans suffer TBI through concussive blasts, explosions, etc... that may or may not knock them out. Through the proper diagnostic imaging (MRI/DTI and or SPECT scan) these injuries can actually be SEEN and properly diagnosed and , yes, even healed through Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT). This is not the current VA protocol for treating these injured veterans. These real injuries are being treated with a series of medications, many of which carry “Black Box” warnings and are psychotropic in nature and absolutely do not in any way address the root cause of the problem, actual injury to the brain. If suicide and suicidal thoughts and ideation are a symptom of PTSD from TBI, then please know that introducing psychotropic medications to the injured brain increases the possibility of suicide exponentially. It already has. And it leaves families devastated and broken...and it can be prevented. To learn more, see the treatnow.org and NorthStarHBOT.com websites. This family deserves to be happy, they deserve to know that they are fighting something real, an actual injury and that their marriage, their family can be saved. I have seen the pain in that veteran’s eyes far too often. He is a man who has done extraordinary things and has broken through the glass ceiling time and time again. Do you really think he is HAPPY to sleep in and play video games? To be detached from his family? To be that young and suddenly become the nation’s next charity case? Something is very wrong with that picture... He needs healing, he needs his life back...all of these veterans do...

Robin O'Bannon I totally appreciate and agree with everything you said! I wonder though, where is his cheating coming from? Not only is he using video games to soothe his PTSD, he also uses sex with other people? So much so he may have fathered a child with someone else? This situation is so sad. I hope they both get the help that they need separately and then together if they choose to stay together.

The Judge was so right, instead of talking about what the issues they had and working on them together, they both just went and did what they wanted to do. He's lying when he says he never used the PTSD as a crutch, he doesn't even fully know if he did or not. Getting him some help is the best way to go and hopefully it will work. If not, it's time for her to dip and dip quick. Though I don't agree with her stepping out on the marriage, I can see that she was begging for him and he just couldn't give her what she needed. Hope they work out, but if not, hope they can heal.

I definitely get where the wife is coming from about the games. My husband LOVES his games (I play with him occasionally ) and will play the PS4 for 4+ hours at a time sometimes (which I know is NOWHERE near the 10+ this guy is). There are times where I have to ask him to get off his game to help with dinner or chores (I'm physically disabled and it's hard to do some things alone) or I have to stand in front the tv when I want to start sexytimes lol. Luckily my husband understands that our needs as a couple/household come before anything especially his games. I couldn't imagine if it got to this point of him neglecting me/our future children.

Now i agree with the wisdom of judge lynn 90 percent of the time , there is a old saying in my country , who is in the fire knows it , the most everyone on this chat forum , judge and doctor can give is their personal opinion or expertises , i play video games , a lot sometimes , this help me to take my mind of the job i provide my service to , many of you would have a problem with this guy playing video games , i don't because i can feel this guy pain , let his ease of the psychological trauma he was exposed to slowly and surely , even if it takes him 20 years of playing video game to do so , he alone knows what he is feeling , because don't matter how much i explain the job i do in my country , u all would never know how i feel mentally , only if u are in it then u would know , i'm a correctional officer in a third world oil rich country , filled with greedy politicians , businessmen and criminals , i work 26 hours a shift then i'm off for 24 hours, then back on the job for 26 hours , when u enter the prison , the scenery looks like an old , colonial , barbaric , dungeon , with no proper ventilation , so you could imagine the scent the place gives off , prisoners are using bucket/ pails to defecate into , their are so many rodents wondering in and around the establishment , picture this a cell which is 8 feet by 8 feet , housing 12 men , which most sleep on the floor , to add on top of this currently prisoners have been threatening officers because the prisoners are overcrowded resulting in unavoidable confrontations between inmates and other inmates , for the past 3 years 7 officers were brutally murdered by ex prisoners or prisoners gang members , who called a hit on them , for doing their job and not allowing drugs , phone and other prohibited items to enter the prison, imagine u can't go nowhere with your family , can't take your family out because prisoners are telling you i know where u were last night , what u wore , what your children were wearing etc , so if playing game helping this guy through his mental depression so let it be , this guy would not play video game till he die , because everything in life got a expiry date , at least he is not out drinking , smoking , got a gambling addiction , partying everyday , but i can see this guy just want to pick up where he left off in his life , he is valuing life itself , many of you would not understand this , because u never went through it , this is the unfair part of life we all have to live with , did u heard his wife cheap champagne reason to justify why she cheated on him ? yes he cheated also , he nasty for doing that , but some women always want to play the emotional card , the guy is mentally depressed , who could be more emotional than him who saw his co worker foot blown off ? his friend bleeding to death , etc but i think he should get a job to help him fix back into society , nothing big , i know the military life takes so much away from someone , that when u return to society it's like things are moving slow , while the military world was moving so fast ,

I to know nothing about PTSD I have heard of it I have friends who have dealt with dealt with it personally however he is not getting professional help he is self-soothing using a video game console and he's not really even self-soothing he's just being lazy if I'm honest because if you had a combat issue why are you playing first hand shooter games to overcome a combat issue it doesn't make sense to wrongs can't lead you to that happy place shooting somebody in the game and killing them after having PTSD over a combat issue doesn't make sense it's not logical

Hold on pause you mean to tell me you spending 10 hours a game then on top of that he's cheating what is your reason for cheating you going to put this on PTSD also no lady I get it you're trying to be the strong one the backbone you're trying to be there for your husband because he went through some stuff however never let somebody take you down in the process of their healing because once he's fixed and he's all together and he's where he needs to be he has the option of leaving you broken now

Neasia Rhynes that's actually called post partum depression. Totally different.
@Kuttie03
@Kuttie03 6 жыл бұрын
Neasia Rhynes actually after child birth it is referred to postpartum depression, not PTSD. And PTSD can happen to anyone, not just those in the military. Someone who was, robbed, raped, etc can suffer from PTSD, and each person display different types of signs/behavior.

15:54 😮 she doesn’t care & seems proud of what she did. Acts like it was ok. What is it w/ people w this tit for tat mess and not taking vows seriously?!? What in the world.... I think what she did was just because she could and it had nothing to do w what’s going on now. Might have the beginning & led up to how she’s feeling now. Judge Lynn was spot on w/ what she told them. She gives advise specifically catered to what’s going on. I feel bad for them and hope they can work through it.
