My 6 day long adventure completing La Cloche Silhouette Trail, more than 78km, in Killarney Provincial Park. With some details including how far we went each day, extra sights we saw, technical downhills, exhausting up hills, rain and wildlife. Definitely tough, definitely beautiful!

We made it around 6 times over the early 2000's. The rocks and trees have not changed. We even had nicknames for the main landmarks. Thanks for the great pictures.

For some reason, some people like the say/post things like "I did it in 3 nights. it was no problem". It's a tough (but rewarding) 6 days. Thanks for the honest review.

Thanks for uploading. I plan to tackle it this year. 6 days sounds like a safe bet. I've portage The Pig going in the opposite direction with a 80lbs 3 person canoe a couple years ago in the pouring rain. Good times ;)

Ooh, that'd be a tough go! I feel like you'd be portaging through a river there!

I saw your slides in your packing pile, and then on your feet!!! (I am so glad you didn't twist your ankle and congrats on making it all the way!). Your video captures some of the challenges quite well! I am combing through videos looking for examples of the trail between H51 to George lake... planning a two-night hike in and out with my sister and my dog who is top heavy and not very agile (although he sometimes thinks he is but we almost lost him between rocks in Kill Bear when he tried to jump a crevasse...). I hiked the cloche solo years ago, but cut my trip short and exited via the crack parking lot so I don't have any experience with the last stretch. It's a very short distance, but I am concerned about the terrain. What can you tell me about the trail from H51 back to the George Lake parking lot? I understand from another hiker that - compared to the rest of the trail - it is smooth going. Are there any crevasses that need to be navigated? In terms of steepness, how would it compare to the pig portage? (My enthusiasm at the prospect of returning to the trail even for just two nights short-circuited my usual common sense).

If I remember correctly, that part was pretty flat! There were a couple parts where you had to go over some bigger rocks, but I don't remember any big crevasses! What I mostly remember from that section was it was muddy and we couldn't take food breaks because it was so infested with mosquitos! Consider yourself warned! Haha! & I promise I did all the actual hiking in hiking boots!

This was a fantastic video. Gave me an awesome perspective on how technical this hike is. What sites did you camp on?

Thank you! We stayed at sites 18, 20, 33, 37 and 45! Wouldn't really recommend that spacing, especially for the first two days haha! We booked basically as early as we could, but it still some many sites were taken and we had to get a little creative to make it work!

You have to book the sites,?I was told it was all crown land and free to camp where you like.

Hello! I believe our first night was at H18, and it ended up being around 24km according to our GPS watch, hope that helps!
