Taking two games out of five from Ma Long is one of the best achievements for most pro players. Gardos played the best game of his life making Ma Long uncomfortable. However, once the deciding game started, Ma Long said to himself, "Enough is enough" and Gardos collapsed right there. He looked like a totally different player.

Thanks for the upload! Watching Ma Long from 2018 is never boring. Gardos did good and how often a TT player can get to the last game of a match against Ma Long in 2018?

Gardos's backhand looks like his coach wouldn't show it to him back when he was a child, so he had to figure it out as an adult. That over the table backhand flip with no full wrist motion is painful to watch.

Ittf is different from wtt I in ittf matches if you didn't give a mercy point it was frowned upon since ma lin did it in 03 but wtt it's not necessary doesn't mean its no respect.

@@reinaldopessoa2603 It's cultural change regardless WTT or ITTF. The shift started by Chinese team and its coach Liu who said not giving a mercy point is the real respect towards the opponent. By not giving the mercy point, you are saying: I respect you are a good enough player who still has the chance to get back. So I'll play every point seriously. Sometimes, we still see exhibition end points which usually are initiated by the losing side.

@@michaelshaw7652 with all due respect not giving a mercy point does not say that mercy is given at the point before winning which is the same as saying my fault beating you so hard no hard feelings it wasn't personal.
