I swear they have more than a couple masks in ends . So I think they took that evil changing shape to a different level. Like if you look at the poster cover it's more green on the right side. I keep hearing it's dried blood on the mask but I really think it's the deterioration of the mask...think of the original mask. if it was dried blood the effect should have been over the whole forehead and nose as well (how it looks in the ending of kills..,,) and then when Corey wears it looks different. And there's multiple photos that look different with Micheal. Correct me if I'm wrong but I swear that mask changes shape...

I feel like the plot twist about Corey looking into Michael's eyes is like Michael looking out of the bedroom window. Maybe he wasn't looking into Michael's eyes, he was looking into his own reflection and realizing that he already has evil in him. That's my interpretation.
@ThatOneDude6009

I interpreted it as Corey allowing himself to be consumed by evil. You see it when you look into Michael’s eyes as Dr.Loomis and Laurie stated. So you can either reject it, or allow yourself to be consumed by it. Corey was in such a state he allowed the latter to happen.

@@ThatOneDude6009 Honestly, to me it gave possession vibes. The way his eyes changed so dramatically. It reminded me of Freddy vs. Jason how since Freddy (Michael) wasn't strong enough to come back, so he makes Jason (Corey) kill for him as a proxy, he gets the energy from the kills the proxy commits. You can even see Michael becoming energized as he stabs Douglas.

The carving in the rock is to represent Michael's reflection. Since Michael was a kid he would stand staring in his sisters window, not looking out but in, to his reflection. The Myers house is now destroyed Michael carved his reflection to stare at. When Michael is choking Corey he sees his reflection for the first time in 4 years. The eyes are the window to the soul.

I should have noticed there were four writers. It explains a lot. In a way, it was like watching several movies braided /spliced together. The first story is a lifetime movie of the week story of recovery. Laurie and Allison living life after the trauma Michael caused. Which was the only one that actually came to a true conclusion. The second story is an origin story of a shiny new serial killer with Corey. The third is going back to the concept that Michael is under a supernatural curse and was looking for someone to pass it on to, which culminates with the destruction of Michael and should have ended with Corey getting up and walking out of the house while the town is focused on the utter obliteration of Michael's body. The king is dead, long live the king. The movie seemed to have multiple personalities. I did not feel as though it was a good conclusion to the trilogy as it was thematically completely different. I didn't hate the film. I enjoyed it during the initial watching even in spite of the random plot changes. My second viewing was not as enjoyable.

Agreed completely. Killing Corey at the end made his entire journey feel pointless. Having him sit up after Michael's body was gone would have stuck with the theme that "evil just changes shape". But they didn't fully commit and that left a sour taste for me.

I feel this film pays respects to what John Carpenter wanted the Halloween series to be. A focus to other horror stories taking place during Halloween and majority of the film was about that along with healing from trauma/evil before it corrupts you. For me, this a satisfying conclusion to the Laurie vs Michael saga

i think a section of the fans forgot Carpenter's original vision is different than what the franchise became, and they've been watching this trilogy through that lens.

Yeah people are going to look at it through that lens because that is what most of the franchise is. The problem is you can’t just switch lenses randomly. Halloween 2018 , and Halloween Kills set things up through the same lens as majority of the franchise. All of a sudden they switch what was advertised, and do something totally different. It didn’t work the first time with Halloween 3, so it won’t work here either. They should’ve concluded the story they were telling, and then once the trilogy was over, add the Cory stuff to take the franchise in a new direction.

Jeremy‘s dad in that scene said something like “I’m gonna prove something to my wife” about stopping and talking to Jeremy so maybe his wife came home the night before complaining about how Cory was having a good time with his friends at the bar and that’s why on that particular day he said I’m gonna stop and talk to Cory. I took the last pumpkin in the opening credits to represent Corey. It appeared fresh, new and untouched which Corey was before he became consumed by his obsession with Michael. He was essentially a fresh new Michael untouched by the evil and when the pumpkin broke apart it was showing how he was complex on the inside and became touched by the evil. That’s my take anyway.

My reading of Michaels initial interaction with Corey is it actually is meant to denote there is a difference between Michael Meyers and The Shape - Michael obviously being the man and The Shape being the "pure evil" inside Michaels eyes that gives him his strength. Michael instinctually wants to kill Corey because that's a fairly Michael thing to do but as he does The Shape recognizes some of itself inside Corey - that incredibly vicious cruelty and hatred (remember, Corey has shown these traits albeit inhibited *before* this scene. He's shown his temper can get the better of him). Given that Michael is too weak to go out and start a murder spree because the town has moved on, The Shape takes root in Corey and uses him to get the ball rolling again in a sort of symbiotic relationship - even siding with Corey when he fights against Michael. Of course, once Corey basically admits defeat The Shape has no use for him, and so once Michael comes and takes back his mask for the showdown with Lauri. The Shape being a thing that fuels Michael also explains why Michael has been weakly subsisting in the sewers but begins to regain strength the more he kills. I very much like the idea of The Shape having a sort of symbiotic relationship with the town and using that to feed Michael. I think it's just the right amount of supernatural to be threatening without being too silly.

I think one easy fix that would’ve covered a lot of the issues here would’ve been Allison discovering/standing up for Corey first instead of Laurie -They could’ve had their chemistry start right there and cut some of the bulky romance stuff before the party -The scene with Lindsay/Laurie would’ve worked better because Allison could have been telling her grandma about their encounter for the first time -If Laurie didn’t see Corey herself until he was lurking outside, it would’ve felt more natural for her to be irked by him (I think we’ve all encountered people that made us feel uneasy at a first meeting) -Laurie not bringing Corey to the hospital wouldn’t have her “setting them up” so the disapproval of the relationship would make her less of the ‘villain’ -All the excess scenes earlier with Laurie/Corey removed could allow them time to sew in some underlying tension with Allison/Laurie

I liked the movie because I feel like it opened up the possibility that someone else could become Michael. It felt like Corey actually transformed into Michael even though his reason for killing is not the same. It feels like he could have further transformed into Michael because, let's face it, if Michael is not supernatural (at least not completely) then it would look pretty ridiculous when he's 80 hobbling after people with his walker. Also, I saw other videos that Moustapha Akkad had a clause in a contract that they couldn't kill Michael. If that's true then this could be a way of killing Michael for a satisfying ending without actually killing him completely.

I feel like the biggest reason that Laurie was the way she was in 2018, wasn’t because of what happened to her in 1978. It was mostly because this was a woman who did not get the proper mental health needed to process that night, and instead went about moving forward in all of the wrong ways. She thought she was doing everything right, when it didn’t end up protecting her or her family like she thought it would. It took Karen’s death for her to realize she needed to try a different approach, or else she would risk losing Allyson the same way she lost Karen. So with Allyson’s help, Laurie finally got the professional help she needed for her mental health and had been working to process what happened to her in 1978 and 2018 in a healthy way instead of doing all of this recluse survival prepping for a man who ultimately wasn’t targeting her anymore. Idk for me I feel like that’s a detail people miss in 2018, that Laurie’s character is showing how someone handles trauma when they don’t treat it in healthy ways. And it hits close to home because I see one of my family members in her, someone who went through a traumatic thing and struggled for years because they weren’t getting the mental health help they needed.

@coreywarejko651

@@rcdune7132 the book was written from an early draft of the script before the film was finished. Things changed between the time the book was written and the final product that we saw on screen including rewrites of the script. If I recall correctly, in the Halloween 2018 book, the Myers house was demolished and a garden stood in its place that Allyson would pass on her morning runs. Yet in Halloween Kills the Myers house was still standing. For these reasons, the book and the movie are not identical and in my original comment I am only referring to what we saw on screen for the final product, and this is doubled down on because this is how JLC and DGG described the character of Laurie in interviews when Halloween 2018 came out as a finished product. So by the time the book was written, and the film was released, Laurie went from what was in the book to a woman who never got treatment for her trauma in the film. And if I recall correctly, the same process happened with the book for Kills and Ends. There was an interview with the writer for 2018 and he described the process of how the book was written, where Blumhouse sent a draft of the script months in advance to the different writers so they could write the books to be released at the same time as the movies. So what is in the books isn’t always where DDG ended up with the films so you can’t use the books to fill in the gaps for the movies all the time because DDG ditched a lot of the original ideas as he went along.

I thought of the moment with Michael and Corey being less about what Michael Sees and more about what Corey sees. I thought it was a moment where Corey feels seen for the first time in a way that he hadn’t understood. That paired with the already shown rage of Corey (panic attacks, crushing the milk bottle when first accosted, and threatening the kids with the knife) made me think that Corey isn’t a bad person, but that anger has been there, especially after years of abuse from his mother, the town, and more. By seeing Michael and getting away I think he starts to justify those feelings as being similar to Michael. I think the film shows this is how he brings himself to Michael, Michael doesn’t pursue him to make a prodigy. I think Michael not killing him in this and later scenes is a matter of Michael being weaker than normal. This is just interpretation of course because while Michael seems weak against Corey, he does seem to “get stronger” when Corey helps him kill later. I think the director and writers wanted some audience interpretation and pushed it a bit too far though.

What the movie could've probably done better, in my opinion, was introduce Corey as the new established serial killer and Alyson being his main target leading to more possible sequels. Basically, with Michael already passing the torch to Corey and Laurie passing the torch to Alyson. This would be something no other slasher movie has done yet. Just like they introduced the "requel" concept with Halloween 2018. Instead of killing off Corey, what if he actually played dead and survived his self-inflicted wounds and woke up at a hospital where he offs a few people before escaping only to go look for Alyson and seek revenge. Halloween ends could've been seen as the end for michael myers but the start to corey's chaos.

I love the way this series ended because when you focus on the story line its self it makes sense from Halloween 2018 to Halloween Ends there's so many depictions of Michael Myers where 2018 is the resurgence of Michael Myers then in Halloween kills you have the monster the beast who is Michael Myers especially when Lori strode says the more Michael kills the more stronger he gets and I feel like that Halloween ends proves that right away and then you got Halloween ends which is an end of an era an end of the legend of Michael Myers in the end of evil itself to me I think it just all fit perfectly together when you put two and two together with all three films you have more of an understanding like in Halloween ends where Lori strode goes to the story that John Carpenter tells about the origin of evil where does evil originally come from it's either from the other tribe or realistically evil is in ourselves which I liked that scene when she's talking to Corey because she explains it really well when she says which part of evil is believable evil being in the other tribe? Or evil being within ourselves which John Carpenter also explains that it's more easier to believe that evil is in someone else instead of realizing that evil is in ourselves we are the enemy got to bring the illusion of Innocence in exploitation and what I really analyzed and focused on the story lines of all three movies to me it made so much sense that it would end the way it ended and that's the whole depiction of Halloween ends does evil come naturally or is evil created and if evil is created who created it is it the person themselves or did other people create that monster that's the one thing that this movie had made me think as I was analyzing it but I like how Lori strode in the end said that evil comes in all different shapes great way to end it in my opinion.

For me, Resurrection isn't canon to H20, it completely botched that movie and everything it was supposed to be, especially with the ending. It can be a sequel sure, but not a canon one. H20 is a great movie as a standalone and a concluding chapter to Halloween I-II. 16:45 i definitely thought Corey has having a seizure 16:53 this movie 100% has great meme material 30:37 regarding the attention to detail on DGG's part, you can see Michael in most shots from the moment Corey falls off the bridge and to when Michael grabs him directly, but you have to really pay attention to see it

I feel like they developed an amazing opportunity for Corey to take Michael’s place, and Allyson to take Laurie’s place, but they decided not to go through with it for some reason. Personally, my ending would include Laurie killing Michael, after Michael fatally wounds Laurie. Throughout the movie, we would see Corey’s transition into the next evil shape, and then him aiding Michael in the final battle. Allyson shows up and shoots Corey, making a tough call to save her grandma. Allyson then helps Laurie kill Michael, then lays with Laurie, as Laurie succumbs to her injuries. At some point, either just before or just after Laurie dies, they/Allyson realize(s) Corey is gone. *spooky* Great way to end the trilogy, while offering the opportunity for someone to continue it, if they want. Shit, add Laurie reading the ending of her memoir about how evil never dies, it just changes shape, indicating Corey truly is the next in line for this. They can be read over a shot of Allyson driving wherever she was going (California?). The potential next movie could’ve had Corey following Allyson to Cali. And really, being a previous love interest would’ve made for an interesting storyline, and in a way, give those who liked the original brother-sister relationship something similar

Michael's hands were pinned to Laurie's kitchen island, and his legs (or at least one of them) were pinned by the fridge. Laurie also gave him a pretty deliberate stab in the side. Add those all up, and it sure felt like the crucifixion of Christ to me. Does that make sense at all? Making Michael a Christ-like figure? Not to me. BUT it did make me wonder--are the film makers hinting at a return of Michael? And yes--it would have to be pretty damn supernatural, given how his body was disposed of. But...
@SeetherFan666

Paul Brad Logan (one of the screenwriters) actually confirmed that Michael was indeed trying to kill Corey upon their first encounter but just simply, did not have the energy to do so. He then "used" Corey as a weapon as they both fed off eachother's energy (DGG's own words) to which, Michael would have no doubt disposed of Corey once he had no use for him.

It would've been weird but at this point, we basically watched him and Corey tag team a cop, a doctor and a nurse and we watched Michael follow Corey back to Allison. When even though in silence, it felt like Michael rooting on his friend to "getting some". As someone who greatly enjoyed the film I have a few different takes on things: Coherence of the trilogy: When I first saw the film, I pretty much agreed with the sentiment, that it's a good stand alone film but not good as part of a trilogy. However the more I think about it, the less I feel that's actually true. If you look at all the themes of every film, it always deals with how Michael's actions affect others. In H2018 it was Laurie's trauma and Dr Sartains - as well as the podcasters - fascination with Michael (both representing outsiders, who have not been directly impacted by Michael). In Kills it was the remaining survivors of 78 and the general public of Haddonfield. Then in Ends it's Corey & Allyson, both affected by Michael, one indirectly through the Haddonfields looking for a new Boogeyman and the other more directly having lost most of her family to him. Also, while the trilogy is overall confused in presenting a clear lead character in every film, I think it's fair to say we can assign H2018 to Laurie (+family), Kills to Michael and Ends to Corey & Allyson. So even the much bemoaned change of main character, is not really that out of left field. Laure's behaviour: I actually think Laurie's evolution makes total sense. To say, she was traumatized by a comparably minor incident for 40 years, while shrugging off a much more severe event, is not taking into account that she lived through both, it's not one or the other. She has lived defined by one traumatic event for 40 years and in the end it got her nowhere, it ruined her family and ultimately it still didn't help her protect her daughter. She then ended up as Allyson's surrogate mother and had to choose between making the same choice again or try and give Allyson a normal life, as far as possible. This is also where the pie scene comes in, as it shows, that this is not who Laurie is. She doesn't even know how to make pies, it's just something she puts on for Allyson's sake. This is also emphasized with how easy and swiftly she slips back into her old ways, as soon as she gets suspicious of Corey. Allyson even calls her out on it, on how she hasn't really changed at all. I like to think, having lost Karen and also the realisation that Michael was never interested in her and it was all in her head, shook her up to the point that at least she wanted to change for the better and not live that life anymore. Michael: Now this obviously is completely up for interpretation but the way I see it is that Michael is hosting some kind of evil entity, not like a fully formed daemon but a kind of darkness, which gains it's powers through killing (& inducing fear). This is what gives him his inhuman strength and ability to snatch back from the dead. While it seemed like in the end of Kills, Michael is at his most powerful, having killed more people than ever before, what if this wasn't really the case? Maybe it was just the darkness carrying him on, like a sudden jolt of adrenaline and in reality the mob had weakened Michaels body so much, it could not properly heal anymore, with it being too old as well. So now the darkness barely keeps Michael alive, hidden in the sewers, feeding off of the odd kill here and there, not able to take the risk of a new murder spree, potentially killing off Michael for good. Along comes Corey, mentally very weak (like let's say a 6 year old boy might have been) and filled with resentment & a thirst for revenge. The darkness chooses him as their new host and slowly transfers from Michael to Corey, bit by bit, getting stronger again through a new string of killings. This is why Corey can so easily take the mask from Michael, not only was he very weak to begin with but Corey is much stronger now too and Michael has no real desire to fight back or even kill Corey. Now where this fails is that Corey is already a fully formed person (unlike a 6 year old boy) and not inherently evil. He doesn't want to harm people he cares about and only kills people that have wronged him (or his loved ones). When he decides to kill himself in some twisted way of turning Allyson against Laurie, the darkness has no choice but to go back to Michael and make one last attempt to survive. We obviously know how that ended, Michael, stronger again by a newly invigorated darkness but still weaker than normal due to his damaged body & old age, is defeated and dies for good, the darkness with him. Seeing things from this perspective, the trilogy makes a lot more sense to me. Not saying it's perfect, not by a long shot but I think Ends is easily the best of the three , really treating new ground and doing it's own thing. I would even argue that H2018 is the one that doesn't really fit, as kills very much informs Ends, those two work much better together for me, than H2018 does with Kills. The main gripe I have with Ends is that they killed of Corey, this seems like such a step back after everything but maybe, they wanted this to feel like and actual end and not just a set up for future sequels. I can respect that.

Freddy Vs Jason 2: Michael Joins the Fray would be pretty interesting, having Freddy bring back Michael as a tool to deal with Jason, machine vs machine with Freddy pulling the strings (though of course Jason is superior in his power and durability, but would still be an interesting concept to see) But yeah, something I didn't think about until this video is, what if its not so much that Michael is the Evil that curses the town of Haddonfield, but the town itself is cursed to always birth evil. So even if Michael is "Gone", as we see with Corey, a new Evil will be created. The town is full of shitty people, and whether its Corey in this one, or Michael in the Rob Zombie version, its the people of the town that bring about the Evil that then fights back. So if this timeline version of Halloween continues, its possible that this might be the concept for it with Corey being a 'teased concept' of the town birthing new evil, a new man, a new mask, a new threat. Not the Curse of Michael Myers, but the Curse of Haddonfield.

I've no idea as to why there is an "imprint" of Michael's face on the stone in the sewer. There was talk about Myers' window and his reflection, perhaps a motivational factor for him? If so that carving could imply that it was Michael who done it, as a means to attempt in retaining an image of himself (reflection) and hold onto what drives him, as he no longer had access to the window of his house, as it was demolished and he left as the townsfolk likely still pursued him on Halloween night 2018. Further to this point, that might also allude to what resulted in him being so weak, not being capable of seeing his real true reflection and fully restoring his inner motivation to be the unstoppable force he became in Kills. Remember straight after he killed Big John? Despite him being aware of Little John being in the house and coming up the stairs to check on him, Myers was staring out the window. Not paying attention to or caring who entered the room. Out the window he gazed, and it could also be assumed after he killed Little John he further gazed out the window between the hospital scene and Allyson, Lonnie and Cameron getting to the house. All speculation in regards to the "window/reflection" theory. And before someone mentions it, "then why didn't he just grab a mirror or something and then head back to the sewer?" I don't know, I didn't write this story. xD
