I bought petroleum resistant JB weld to do this mod. After banging on the high jet a few times with my punch, I noticed the hole on the top reduced one diameter a decent amount. I was hesitant on applying the JB weld so I decided to just go with it. This helped a decent amount. After seeing your video, it makes me want to go back and complete the mod. Subscribed for sure!

Holy shit I’ve been having idle issues and issues with my cs590 dying after throttle for months and been tearing her apart. I just swapped out my high jet nozzle for the full send one (I didn’t seal up the hole like you did I punched out the entire jet) and holy crap it completely fixed all of my issues she is purring again , I would say this is the #1 most important carb mod for the 590 by far and may be the reason for most of its problems actually

Amazing Job!!!! Finally a cs-590 video that explains technical information and on what to do! Saw has been out for years and you Sir have the most informative video! Thank you Thank you!! Can I ask why you put the deflector angled towards the left side vs to the right side stock? I can’t believe it’s not hitting the limit on the coil, as least it doesn’t sound like it. So the 620 unlimited coil & larger carb isn’t as much of a issue as the stupid H-jet bypass on the 590/620 carburetor’s. That hole is what it sounds to me is the most restrictive lagging performance deal on both the 590/620’s. The muffler modifications of course have to be done as well as the limiter cap tabs. Appreciate your time Sir, best video on the KZfaq for the Echo CS-590 TimberWolf!! That saw screams now! Great job! 👍 So 😎!

Thank you! And please, for the love of God, share the video! Been trying to grow my channel, but it can be difficult. As far as the deflector goes, it is on just like it was from factory, you are probably seeing me talk about it when the camera is on selfie mode. It makes it a mirror image. I'll do a tuning video of it tomorrow if I have time. Get the tac out and see what it spins at. If all goes well, on Wednesday I will have a Wack-Off video of it running against itself in stock form. I hope you check out my channel. I've got lots of good content. Or so I think.

On the 620 carb to get it to actually tune I punch the jet out rotate it a lil and reinstall then you can tune it to the moon. Those jets have to be lined up in order for that bypass passage to work. So simply turning it will block it off.

I take the air filter cover off and just use the knob off the cover to hold the air filter while I’m tuning, yes those tiny carb H/L slots suck, that makes it where I can see better inserting the screw driver during tuning adjustments.
@dentondunn4346 Жыл бұрын
Can you turn the high jet with a small screwdriver or it take a special tool? It doesn’t have limiter’s on mine, took them off
@zeromark2029 ай бұрын
Yes the jets are slotted for a flathead screw driver. Echo makes a special tool to remove the limiters which I have PN: 91075 a drywall screw works but can damage. I buy new limiter caps since there only .99 cents a piece cut the tabs off and re-insert them back in makes it much easier to get the screw driver on them and turn.
@ToddAdams12342 жыл бұрын
Looks like you’ve got a winner now. I noticed a momentary lack of RPM gain during all of those accelerations, what’s up with those? “Maybe” another tuning issue, or is it something else?
@novicelumberjack2 жыл бұрын
Good ear! Your Definitely right. This is usually from the low side being too lean in my experience, but I was having such a hard time finding the screwdriver slots, I kinda gave up. Plus, listening to it on video afterwards, I was able to hear a lot more detail. Before I do the Wack-Off, I'll spend a copious amount of time dialing it in and getting it perfect. Hopefully it will make a difference.

Thanks man! The best job I ever had was teaching HVAC in the Air Force. I learned that, when you need to teach others how to do something, you learn the subject matter in depth at an exponential rate. I also learned to teach the material with the students questions in mind. A lot of students won't ask their questions, and so you must answer them as you teach expecting the questions even though no one has asked. I'm so thankful for everyone on KZfaq who I learn from. Tinman, John, Joe, Walt, Matt, Ironhorse, and on and on. But they all have the same problem...they leave out the minutiae, which leaves their students not fully understanding. Teaching is so rewarding when done right. To both students and teacher.

I also added paper gaskets and some shellac compound stuff between the carburetor on both sides to help steal things up because there were no gaskets originally and I feel like that’s a huge design flaw so that with the nozzle is a fucking crazy monster chains, I can actually read it and get it tonight for stroke anymore and you Lena to fuck out. The crazy thing is when I was trying to tune it I had the high I’d like one and a half it wanted a full like 3 1/half plus with us mod after I was done I was not expecting that. I was getting a ton of bars on the low and I could not Revit initially then I just opened that high jet and what bam .

To be clear, you were showing an "extra" jet, and - if 1 were to do this at-home, they would *not* actually be removing the jet from the carb? They would simply be opening the carb's cover on that side, and plugging with JB? Just wanna be clear!! Cannot believe it but actually had my 590 not start after mussing its carb the other day (it's ported and had been running-lean from a plugged filter, which I still cannot understand but it was running lean as heck and cleaning it made it go haywire and die when I pulled trigger..) May've flooded it, have the factory spec settings tuned in (3/4ths on the H, 1 3/4 on the L, just double-checked that is the OEM tech manual spec, has a good carb-tuning instructional actually am hoping the starting points are OK-enough for my ported&flowed unit..) "Truly modded"...man this is almost subjective in "common parlance" but I posit this is objective and that NO 590 muff-mod that opens up the rear half can be optimal, they all inherently allow atmosphere "into the mix" by the flange meaning you're altering charge-dynamics for the worse...you can fix it super easily though, using that big top-hole "for access" to the central baffle-wall, enlarge its passage-holes at least 75%+ to the front-half and then seal the top-face ENTIRELY, and make your new exit(s) on the front-face of the muffler (I made mine as a pair, though I could've made 1 exit w/ 2x the size, a pair of 1/2-as-big just has a better sound IMO!!) I did mine to about 75% surface area of the OEM exhaust flange area, though to be fair my flange is widened & port-matched into the muffler but I figured that'd only really affect the characteristics of the port itself not muffler-requirements, and all the books emphasize to go a bit smaller, than risk going a lil too-large, on your muff's final exit....makes sense when you consider how well off-the-shelf saws can perform w/ their choked-up muffs, my 2511 has like barely 1/4"sq exit not even!!
