Thank you so much. A lot of effort went into using authentic equipment and sounds that would have been used for the original 60s and 70s soundtracks. I think it makes all the difference for getting "that sound".

too similar to pop music of '60 than western. first track too similar to "house of the rising sun" by Animals, the other tracks typical of that period.

This is a fair criticism. I think if it was more of an "authentic" western soundtrack there would be less big themes and more instrumental variations on one or two main themes. I think, as this is a completely audio (and not audio/visual like a real movie) I wanted to tell stories with words as well as sounds. But art is a practice not just an enthusiasm so I am still learning and growing. The next album that I am currently working on will include more instrumental tracks that (hopefully) tell a story without words. It's funny that you mention "house of the rising sun". It is an old folk song, musicologist Alan Lomax suggested that the melody might be related to a 17th-century folk song. The animals mostly take their arrangement from Bob Dylan's version, Bob Dylan took the arrangement from Dave Van Ronk and of course it goes way back further than him. There is obviously something in these old melodies that persists and re-appears in different forms throughout history. Taking melodies and ideas from old folk songs and making them into big epic soundtracks is how Spaghetti Western music was invented (or at least that's what Ennio Morricone said).

@@RexHooper1 I think the right soundtrack for a western movie could be irish and mexican folk music. in my opinion the best song in a western soundtrack is Bob Dylan track "Turkey Chase" in the movie "Pat Garrett & Billy The Kid" by Sam Peckinpack.
