That was great, loads of thrust visable, its nice you go out with your camera in wet conditions, to get such good video. Filming airliners in bad weather, is fun video to watch.

You're right, the outboard engines on the A380 are not fitted with thrust reversers due to the risk of debris ingestion. But the A380 has a much wider wing span than the 747-400, and its outboard engines tend to extend well over the edge of most runways, while those on a 747-400 usually do not.

I see where you are coming from; but that was a b747 freighter, But they also have Boeing 777's and Airbus A330's in their fleet.

its not their own plane they leased it form tnt airways. we also get their b777 freighters a few times per week. thanks for watching

Actually the side panels open and thrust is directed forward around the exterior of the engine. Air does not reverse thrush the middle of the engine. Think of the pod races in Star Wars, Zebulon pod racer had vents on the side.

No, you can see all the engines are in reverse thrust and on full power, look at the water underneath the inner engines around 0:31
