Crane Crazy

Күн бұрын

Join me as I take you on a full climb up my 65m tall tower crane on my new site located in Brentford West London
My crane is a Jaso J115.8 and is 55m (213ft) tall and has a 35m long jib/boom with a max rated capacity to lift 6ton (6.000kg) with 2.7ton (2.000kg) at 35m reach at the end
In this one I start off outside the site and explain about my start to the day, I then take you on the site, turn the crane generator on and start the long climb to the top
There’s then some in cab chat and working operations footage all taken with permission and with the purpose to educate and entertain only
Footage was filmed in HD 1080p 50fps using a GoPro Hero 9 Black with a Max Lens Mod attached and using official GoPro accessories
Big thanks to Nick Hutson Music for creating and providing the outro music

Enjoying the videos thanks for the look into your world. A quick way to convert centigrade to Farenheit (approx) is double the centigrade and add 30 so 5c = double it to 10 + 30 = 40F

Thanks for posting, I not a crane operator. But find them intriguing.i see the electric cable running down one side of the tower. Would love to know how that all connects. And when the crane is unattended in high winds. How the cable doesn’t twist and snap? So basically the electrical side to running the crane, keep the videos coming 👍

I have worked at height for most of my career fair play on your ladder climbing, I always hold the ladder stiles ( sides) as you never let go and enables me to carry things in one hand as do most of my colleagues,others inc the fire brigade recommend holding the rungs as your grab mechanism works better in a slip but you are constantly letting go Loving your channel 👍

🤠Greetings, from Keene, New Hampshire, USA! I'm a retired trucker and pro musician. But now, I'm a fiction writer of trucking and UFO adventures. I enjoyed your Vlog very much. Thanks for showing us the climb up into the crane footage. Just before I found you, I was trying to depict a SWAT sniper climbing up and onto a 300,ft tower crane then out onto the 200ft jib🫣. And this, on a blustery below ° full moon night to do surveillance on suspects while perched over a gigantic container yard. Seeing those rest platforms ( what do you call them?), at different intervals made more sense than my vertical straight loooooonnng latter!🙄😳

Hi Andy, enjoying these crane videos… really different. You’ve already answered a few questions I’ve had. How do you get down in an emergency, a rapid abseil etc?
@cranecrazy
@cranecrazy Жыл бұрын
There is a rescue plan put in place where a group of on site staff are trained by the fire brigade on how to abseil off a crane basically, the driver is then lifted off the crane with a harness and ropes
@dirknoom4389
@dirknoom4389 4 ай бұрын
I was wondering before why none of the cranes have lifts, even the 24 meter crane would probably have one here in the Netherlands. Makes it easy to see when the driver is back from their break. But like you say, it's definitely good exercise. So far I've not seen any block cameras, but they pretty much all have one in the trolley. Interesting videos, I like seeing your perspective and enjoy your presentation.

The skyline of London has changed massively over the last 20/30 years, not just in Central London (the City), but there are many clusters of new skyscrapers all over London. Canary Wharf/Lewisham/Vauxhall/Elephant and Castle/Stratford/Brentford/Croydon/Nine Elms/The South Bank/Wembley/Aldgate etc. If all of the modern skyscrapers in London were built in the same general area, the skyline would look like New York or Hong Kong.

Hi mate, I just found your channel and this is actually the third video I‘ve watched in a row and so far I‘m really liking it 👍 Very interesting videos I have to say, and I‘m by far NOT a crane operator or anything nearly related to this. Actually I‘m a professional cameraman and video editor for over 19 years now, so if YOU do have a question when it comes to filming and editing, don’t hesitate to contact me 😉 But I just found out that your last video was uploaded 9 months ago 😳 so what happened if I may ask? I‘ll definitely watch the other videos of yours in the course of the next few days, and of course I‘ve already subscribed to the channel and liked every video I‘ve watched 👍 One thing out of curiosity: Are you sure about the elevators in/at German cranes? Cause I don’t recall seeing an elevator next to a normal Jib crane like yours in this video?! Best wishes from Germany 🇩🇪, Philipp 👋

Just found the channel . It is great and I would love to do the job .I wouldnt worry about the height , but the climb looks like hard work . Sorry if you have covered this elsewhere , but are crane operators only trained or qualified to work one type of crane ( Horizontal Jib or Luffing Jib ) or can you work either bearing in mind the different operating models . Looking around you dont seem to see as many horizontal job cranes as you used to and certainly in the cities they all seem to be luffers ( apart from yours ) . I am guessing this is dependent on how many cranes are needed to operate on each site and the turning circles available .

NASA clipper wind instruments! Lol… mine lasted about 2 months on my boat! ⛵️⛵️⛵️. I guess you get asked this all the time, where do you take a dump when up the crane?

Late arrival to your channel, and sorry if this question has already been answered elsewhere/here, but this is clearly a physically demanding job: without the lift that you mentioned at the start, how to emergency services provide prompt support/rescue if they are ever needed?
@cranecrazy
@cranecrazy Жыл бұрын
There is a rescue plan in place conducted by trained people, they basically climb up and then throw you off the side lol
