Great interview, I so rather hear you interview these Rock greats than Trunk. You let them tell their story without interrupting 500 times, Eddie can't do an interview without mentioning himself in everything, I, I, I, all that dude does. Very nice to hear Don give an accurate account of his history.

I remember seeing them in the 90s, supporting "Dysfunctional". It was at a smaller venue, but they played a great show. Pilson sang on at least one song - I believe "Just Got Lucky", which he did a great job on. Don was doing a display of band unity, but (it seemed to me) the way George came off, he wasn't into it and was there to play. (Which he also did great on.) People are complex, so any number of things might've been going on behind the scenes, but I remember thinking: "Enjoy this show, I'll probably never get to see them together again."

I used to hear/believe ALL the "Don's NO GOOD" from Lynch's POV for decades BUT ..I have come to believe with ALL this digital age of tell alls from multiple sources that it definitely wasn't "ALL DON'S FAULT"....Lol. Lynch definitely has his own demons as well, as history has definitely shown... I can only imagine being such a great guitarist (especially throughout the 80s, up next to RHOADS/EVH ect.) and NOT ending up with some kind of "complex". Lol 😆....And yeah, I wasn't a fan of "In my Dreams" though either......😏

Despite alot of the nay sayers saying Don Dokken should just retire I'm still rooting for him. I know Don hasn't sounded the best live in recent years but I would lying if I said he isn't one of the hardest working musicians ever. Even with his barley functioning right arm he still treads on, gotta respect him for that.

There’s too many great riffs for there to be a greatest. You should listen to some of the early Pantera records when they were more like Dokken where they were still heavy but had that melodic feel that defined the 80s. Half of those songs could’ve been radio hits had Pantera decided to go to LA instead of stay in Texas.

The DBT was recording Long Peter Madsen(MCA) at the same time as Dokken recording Under Lock & Key at Amigo Studios in North Hollywood(Formally Warner Bros). In fact on (Struttin') Down Hollywood Blvd the engineer, Chet Himes (Christopher Cross) ran my guitar through George's Marshall stack and back through the board to add natural compression! We mingled with the guys from Dokken a lot and I remember Don playing my Martin acoustic and George walked in and Don said, " Oh I forgot, I'm not a guitar player". George grabbed the guitar played a few notes and said, "I like my Alvarez better".Then he walked out of the studio. Ok, nice talking to you as well, George!!

Don makes good points about band members moving on. Fans all want the original lineups, of course. But there just comes a time, where members need to go their separates ways. Not easy to stick together for 40 years. Some bands can do it, some can't. People want George and Don to work together again. But they just have their own lives going right now. I constantly see people complain that Warren DeMartini is not in Ratt anymore. And I'm thinking "yeah it sucks, but oh well" just gotta let it go. A lot of iconic musicians are no longer with the band they are famous for. Skid Row is without Sebastian Bach, for example. Most 80's bands that are still active today, are not the original lineup. But as long as the bands continue, and keep the music alive. That's all that matters.

What I really want to know is why Broken Bones was taken off of all the streaming services, I bought the album on Applemusic and it just vanished, Don says they're re-releasing it but I just wanna know when.

Some of this sounds so ironic. Ive seen old videos of Dokken over in Germany or wherever and Jeff n George were alone in a hotel room with a bunch of small but nice recording equipment writing songs and Don n Mick were downstairs partying it up.

I can relate to Don Dokkens back problems. Ive got sciatica due to arthritis and problems with other areas of my back. Im always dropping things, wake up in the middle of the night and my hands are numb with sharp pains shooting through my wrists, etc,,,,,. Its a Bitch.

35:05 I think the APIs he bought from EVH were from the console that EVH bought from Sunset Sound.

Hey man you should get with Jay Reynolds from Malice and get a nice interview from him too. I’d love to know more about that band and especially the EP Crazy In The Night.

full in bloom keep trying man, and thank you for bringing the interviews that we really wanna hear. That Icon interview was fantastic. Idk why Blabbermouth or sleazeroxx couldn’t have shared that information from what you did. A lot of people still don’t know Icon is working again.

Any Luck on actually getting George Lynch on here? Perhaps he could give us his version for the Tooth and Nail Recording of the mishaps that was Caused.

Lol. Way to go with that last question! Lol. Yeah man DOKKEN was one of my bands I was rooting for. Wasp blew it too. Oh well that can be life in that fast lane.

Not sure WASP "blew it". I think they tried to be successful but it just didn't happen. Blackie wasn't the type of guy that was going to be a multi platnuim singer. They were to shocking in the beginning to be a headliner and then to serious around the Headless children. Dokken could have been bigger but they just couldn't get out of their own way. They definitely blew it

Any mention of Great White resurrects the horrible circumstances surrounding the death of the "new guy", the "temp" guitarist, Ty Longley. A grim reminder of the dark side of these "heroes"
