Wow I could see a kid becoming a professional rock climbing instructor, park ranger, tour guide, run a bicycle shop, so many other possibilities of really interesting professions. I'm in my 4th year full time. I see kids all the time out here. I think they're in some ways truly blessed.❤ Thank you so much for making this video. I'm part of RV fb groups & so many want to wait till their kids graduate and they're not yet in high school. If my parents did that I would be soooo mad at them for leaving me out of the fun.

Great video! As a single mom I wasn't able to RV fulltime, we were the 3 Weekers in the summer, 2 weeks in winter at Christmas break, a week for ski week, and a week at easter. I'd set the camper up over the week prior to leaving so once everyone got home on the last day before the break we'd take off and be at the campground by that night all set up. Yes I did it myself, hooking and unhook in the trailer (19ft Terry w/two 30lb propane tanks rear hugh bathroom, hugh double door closet, hugh bathtub with skylight. Fold up bunk over the table, and a front fold down sofa sleeper.) The best layer out camper I've ever seen and owned! The hardest thing was being able to fish without the kids tossing everything including themselves out of the rental boat. And scaring off the fish! Much love from So.Cal.💟

My wife made the decision to homeschool grandkids a few years ago. Now, we several close friends asking us if my wife would be interested in teaching their grandkids. It is so worth it. The grandkids love going with us when we go on trips with the rv. The memories are priceless.

This is all so good to know. About home schooling kids and all while on the road. And as you travel you are right about that the kids learn about history or about each state you go too. It she’s them in the long run.

That is good to know you still see family and all. Sounds like fun what you’ll be doing this year for traveling and meeting up with the Roadrunners. Sounds like fun too because you will be at the Rv show. I know Matt said you’ll meeting up with him one day. I would love to see your videos of the Rv show. Hope you have fun there. And I’ll see you all soon. Stay safe.

"We were born in the 80's." OMG my kids were born in '70 & '81. LOL When I was a kid, we tent camped with my grandfather in NC, SC, TN and GA. He liked primitive campgrounds so we learned a lot about the great outdoors and visited farms and old homesteads that had lots of history about our area. Even visiting Cherokee and seeing the things the Indians made and learning about how they lived. I was fascinated with the lifestyles. You don't find much of that now and I think that's sad. We are seeing now with grandkids, it's hard to leave and not see them. I am supervising their online schooling because the parents have to work. If they go face to face, they ride the bus to our house and wait to be picked up at the end of the day. They are 4 & 6 and I have taken care of them since they were born. I actually think they spend more time with us than at home. We are trying to get back into traveling again. This is a challenge for us. HUGS~Donna

Boondocking (dry camping) full time with kids has its own considerations. Especially with teenagers who need to shower often, since water is often more limited. It is more difficult to meet others and for the kids to make new friends outside of campgrounds as well. It’s not impossible, though, and we love it!

You remind me of my parents but on a smaller scale. That's what my parents did every summer for two weeks while we tent camping across the eastern coast. They would pick an area with history and we explored, Willimsburg is one or Kitty Hawk, or we would also pick a state and explore that. It was fun I learned a lot and still have my love of history.

People do seem to let their guards down while camping ,and because of shared intrests are more open. I lived and worked in the DC area and that was not a part of life. One had to always be on guard.
@Five2Go

It gets exhausting, doesn't it? I (Brian) grew up in Northern Virginia and had a job in DC for a while. It is so weird being surrounded by people but isolated at the same time because you never knew if that person next to you was normal or some whacko. We much prefer smaller communities and being able to talk to almost anyone without any fear or apprehension.

Because of covid my son was virtual school but his school used k12. This year he has learned so much more and thriving. He has zoom meetings with his buddies every week and I think they have gotten closer as friends. He wants to do it next year also because he can do it on his own and gets done so fast because he is the kid who starts and finishes. I am trying to find a teaching job where I can be home also this year it's been great just being with the 3 of us. We have been really thinking about selling the house and doing rv full time. Just 3 of us and 2 old cats lol.

@@Five2Go thinking of thousands trail membership. Do you have one? Does camping ground set limits for thousands trail membership on rv size? One post says only several sites for RV longer than certain size for TT members.

We use Thousand Trails a TON and we love it. We've never seen size limits at TT though, so I'm not sure where you heard that. We've been in about 30 of them around the country so far and can only think of maybe one that would've had trouble with rigs over 40'.

Our kids are pretty far from graduation so we don't have any experience with that yet. Homeschooled kids graduate all the time though and how will depend on what your state requires.
