Ineos can benefit their brand simply through successfully managing Utd...all parties happy...probably. I am not convinced Jim is after all the Club...and there has been a cloak of secrecy over the deal to keep fans onside I think. In summary...it was a done deal...and I would be astonished if Ineos buy the Club, and even more surprised if they pay the debts off. They work like the Glazers...and Ineos have many companies tied to the stock market and casino capitalism...which is posh for rich thieving baskets who rob everyone else's eyes out...

Then there are the CR7, Messi, Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Walter Peyton, Tom Brady and thousands of other less talented athletes who squeeze every last drop out of their talent. Not everyone who has the talent has the "love" of the game to do what it takes to be their best. Part of recruiting needs to identify the level of dedication not just the raw talent.

I tend to agree. INEOS are all about cost cutting and profit increases with minimal investment.

He tried for a full takeover. His first four offers were for a full takeover. It wasn't possible. A phased buyout was the only way it could be done. So this doesn't marry up with your suggestion that it was the size of the takeover that made some people stump for Qatar. Unfortunately there is a part of our support who wanted us to be the next MCFC rather than a revived MUFC.

Nobody is saying everyone wanted him, but we are talking about the majority here. I wasn’t very clear with that in my first post sorry.

@@paulb1951 We're not paying dividends anymore. SJR has put a stop to that. The club isn't run on voting rights. It's run according to it's articles of association. It's executive positions that give you control, and all the top exec positions are now SJR's people.

Ineos aren't known for running companies on shoestring budgets, they're known for making companies more efficient, buying companies that have been neglected, that have been run badly, and turning them around. The club doesn't need huge amounts of money pumping into it. We can only spend on the team what we generate because of FFP. The stadium project will finance itself. Shareholder profits? We're not paying dividends anymore. SJR insisted on that, it was a condition of the deal. You correctly claim that the financial performance of the company depends on the success of the team, yet seem to be also claiming that SJR is going to run the club into the ground. Make that make sense! Look, it's very simple, SJR is stupidly wealthy, if he wanted to make more money he'd buy another chemical plant. The only way he'll ever make money out of the club is if he sells his shares. He paid $33 for shares that are trading at $16.

How would you know he DID have the money? Reports were that he pledged his family’s money, but that money hadn’t even been sanctioned by his family. So he was promising funds that he didn’t actually have. That’s why the Glazers didn’t take his hand off with his offer. The money wasn’t guaranteed.
