SAF did everything at United for decades, and he was insanely successful at it. Comparing him to other people simply isn't fair. He is not an ordinary man. SAF is a one of a kind, genius. Pure genius. Expecting to simply replace him with another manager was always a foolish plan. We are not all the same. Some people are just better than everyone else. Building a real system is the only way you can hope to emulate what SAF did in his day.

Bayern's MO has always been to weaken their immediate opposition. Last season, they finished behind Leverkusen and Stuttgart, so they signed a CB from each of those clubs to weaken them. Which means they need to offload one already at the club. De Ligt gets most value for money, cause Eric Dier is shit, KMJ just joined last season and is decent and Upamecano would fetch less than De Ligt and probably also a lesser burden than De Ligt in terms of wages. It's a good deal for United, I think.

The one good thing that the Glazers brought to the club was maximising the commercial side of things... grew our revenue exponentially... American style commerce... of course it was for their benefit and they saddled us with debt, but we're now in a position where getting rid of them and their debt will stop leave is with this commercial juggernaut and that will be invaluable in the future.

Ste is loud and direct and pushes the whole thing forward. Joe can go round the houses with questions or opinions so Ste often makes his point before the he’s made it because he know where he’s going with it. Where someone like Jay would wait for him to stop. It’s a dislike, it’s a clash in personalities. I reckon Ste wouldn’t swap Joe smith for many people. They’re all top and offer something.

No manager has been given this much support prior to this summer, let alone what will happens during the summer (structural changes, more signings, more outgoing) The expectations are only so low BECAUSE of the manager’s chronic underperformance last season. No more excuses. He must deliver.

Jimmy fix it, He didn't wanna spend in jan and we didn't spend in jan previous to that, hag has had 2 transfers windows in 2 years and he supposed to be on his 5th, no support is shown so far, nice try. I will still believe it when I see it. I have absolutely no faith in Ineos. SJR has made a fortune buying companies and cutting costs until they become profitable without improving the actual product. Looking at what he is doing by laying off staff ... he is taking the same approach here. Not only that but Ineos have an awful track record with sports teams. Lausanne got relegated repeatedly and they also tried to change their logo to include Ineos' and had to backtrack. Nice were a regular top 4 team before Ineos and since they took over they have finished outside the top 4 every season. Team Sky was the best cycling team in the world and were utterly dominant and they quickly fell apart once Ineos took over and now they don't win anything. There isn't a single example of Ineos taking over a sports team and making them better. Not one. I obviously hope that we are the exception and rhey finally get it right but their track record speaks for itself.

So we just paid to steal Dan Ashworth from Newcastle, and they just hired Paul Mitchell. Was Dan Ashworth worth it? What has he really done? He got Southgate hired in the England job. Is that not a slight worry in itself? Then you have Sandro Tonali transfer from last summer. Did Ashworth not do his research on Tonali and his alleged gambling problems? I am still not sure about ETH as his buys have mostly been shit so far, hoijland can’t hit a barn door, but is young has no service etc same with his national side as well though, Antony is crap, Mount was waste of money Martinez is sick note, Onana has been shite as well yeah got better let’s ignore the goal against city and numerous games he has been utter rubbish in, so these buys from ETH are not positive but as options out there are worse, we will see, coaches have been improved but will his donut chaos’s formation change?

The problem with Mount is, did we actually need him? Could we have spent the £55m elsewhere - the fact he only had 1 year left on his contract and we paid top price for him was stupid
