Only 5 players remain really from the Jose era and those are mostly squad players. And no one was complaining when we handed huge new contracts out to Shaw & Rashford (apart from me). Recruitment & Squad management has been a huge issue, but so was recruiting Ole & EtH to oversee that, and giving them far too long in the role when we all know they're nowhere near good enough.

Its easier to get rid of one person than a whole team. Get rid of bunch of players and replace them takes time. It took Arteta 2 full seasons to get rid of the deadwood.

Ten Hag has spent £400m on that squad. He’s given contracts to players who were already there like Rashford, and made one of them his captain in Bruno. This is now HIS squad. He puts Antony and Mount on the bench even though he decided to spunk £150m on the pair of them. This narrative of it’s the same players is not accurate. Bruno Dalot Rashford Maguire McTominay Shaw (when available) are all guys he counts on that have been at the club under multiple managers. It’s the players he signed himself that are linked with moves or that he doesn’t seem to count on (Antony,Mount,Eriksen,Casemiro).

If you look at it objectively last season they had the most clean sheets in the league joint third best defensive record with arsenal, they just couldnt score goals though This season the goals are there but they've fell off defensively, but then when you look at the number of defensive injuries and the number of defensive combinations they've used this season nearly 30 something crazy like that, that kind of tells most of the story of where there problems lie this season theres no consistency in the defence Especially then you compare with a team like arsenal whos centre back partnership have started basically every game in the league this season

Fixing the midfield is not as easy as just sort it out. The Casemiro fall off has caught everyone off guard but at Real he was able to just SIT and defend. Here he has to go further forward than he can recover from. Ten hag’s tactics use ALL the midfielders to assist in attack so he has to gamble when going forward that someone will cover the space because nobody is quick enough to recover to fill the space. So it’s a question of which do you sacrifice midfield stability or attacking threat? He has tried to limit the exposure but gets caught. Until he gets a pacey #6 that can cover the ground we have what we have. It will be sorted in the summer window but until then it is what it is.

Conference league would be the best thing for utd. Competition isn't that strong and gives opportunities to your fringe players which keeps them sharp for when you need them. You just need a manager that knows how to rotate the squad.

The issue started in pre-season, the players were divided from then, on multiple issues, and it was all due to decisions made by the board and other external factors, and then we started seeing attitude from the players and suffocating media attention, in addition to one of the worst injury crisis.

By that logic should arsenal have stuck with Emery ? Should City have kept Pellegrini? Should Liverpool have kept Brendan? You don't just give time to anyone, the manager has to earn time. ETH hasn't done that and hopefully he'll be sacked in the summer. If not, we'll know Jim isn't to be taken seriously.

@@kol9382 if people had said sack Ten Hag at the end of the first season one could understand they saw something that others couldn't about the manager, but now you say sack the manager in a season which has been riddled with injuries and other issues. We can all sit comfortably and say "injuries are not an excuse" but in reality 60+ injuries for a team trying to rebuild is the most relevant excuse. You have to judge a manager when the playing field is level, he did well in the last season, so it's only logical to give him the next season and then make a decision, not throw him out like a used tissue the moment it gets wet.

He should’ve been sacked months ago. The man has not learnt his lesson since the first game of the season. suicidal football with gaps all over the field, being outplayed by the vast majority of teams. The warning signs were there when he said he’s not going to play the Ajax style. Well what are you going to play then, since the track record on which you were appointed was that style? Geezer is making it up as he goes along and humiliating the club every week. This is the worst I have ever seen United. Performance wise the team should comfortably in the bottom half of the table.

This needs to be a building process because of him, mainoo, martinez, garnacho, and Hoijland. Characters who he's has identified to have the right attitude. You need to take into account he's got players that aren't his and have been there throughout the trophieless days. Why is it that liverpool can hold out for years to win their first title in 30 years, but Man United can't? The fans need to learn patience and learn to back a manager. Especially one that is giving you a chance of any type of silverware. Silverware, by all accounts, you should be appreciative to be near, under any manager. You need to build a story with a manager and go through high and lows for the years. With Klopp it hasn't been dominance yet he's considered one of the best managers ever. So united need to create a story and transition with a manager no matter how long, but you never will if you wish for instant perfection. We aren't living in the days where they're are many of those types of mangers. So back this guy and just wait and see. For instant perfection you need you also need perfect players and you don't. But you certainly have the best manger you can have.

Correction….the useless recruitment team spent 400 million on a bunch of players that weren’t ETH first or even second choices. The recruitment team also overpaid for a lot of those players making it look worse. The recruitment teams at City or Liverpool would’ve bought more, better players for that money. ETH is far from the biggest problem at United.

Look at the incredibly fortuitous draws that United got for last year's two cup finals and this year's FA Cup! I think at one point United drew 10 consecutive home matches, and except for Liverpool this season, predominant draws were against week teams?

If I owned man u which I don't I know lol but if I did I'd have roy keane as manager dealing with day to day and the press and whoever is head coach at Aston villa as my head coach. Keane can take the heat and whoever is head coach can concentrate on playing good football. Bring back ole to coach the forwards and Howard to coach the goalies. ( we'd never get Schmeichel) bring back pally to coach defence and Lee Sharpe to be a all round presence. Life would be good and keane would be the new fergie. Also have Brian mclair and Eric Cantona show up for unplanned training sessions just to show the youngsters that united are still alive and even though they retired they can always come back to united. United are a family. Keep it that way.
