As part of an EXPLORING ENGLAND series, I am visiting places across England to see if they're really worth your hard earned cash and precious time!
Greenwich is a vibrant historical place to visit for the day! In this video I will be showing only a few of many things to do in Greenwich - including the Royal Naval College, the Queen's house and Greenwich market! So hopefully this inspires you to get out and explore England!

TRAVEL
As Greenwich is in London, transport links are excellent. We travelled via London underground and the DLR. We arrived at Cutty Sark DLR station which was a 5 minute walk away from the main attractions. You can also take a bus if that suits you. I would definitely recommend using public transport rather than driving as I didn't spot many places to park and it'll most likely be cheaper to take public transport
ROYAL NAVAL COLLEGE
This is a stunning outside area is a photographers dream! the long walkways lined with dozens of pillars make a beautiful backdrop and I'm sure, in the summer, the patch of grass in the middle would make a nice place for a bite to eat in the sun (if the sun decides to make an appearance). We spent apporx. 1 hour - 1.5 hours here as there is plenty to see.
QUEEN'S HOUSE
This is where you'll see many beautiful paintings, sculptures and models inside the gallery. There are multiple rooms with many entrances/exits so it is quite easy to lose someone you're with. But, outside on the grounds of the Queen's house there are some more pillared walkways and gravelled paths that lead out onto a park. It was overall a very nice experience and we spent approx. 2 hours here.
GREENWICH MARKET
This market is a very popular place for Londoners and visitors alike. There are a range of different stalls out most days of the week and it has a very friendly and welcoming vibe. This would be a lovely place to get some authentic souvenirs and some delightful sweet treats!
FINAL THOUGHTS/INFORMATION
I would definitely recommend visiting Greenwich, there are many things to do and see here and most importantly... many things to eat! It's something the whole family can get involved in and enjoy - just keep an eye on the kids! Every place we went to was within walking distance of each other but some areas aren't as easily accessible for disabled people. Unfortunately we didn't get to visit the Painted Hall as it was under renovation at the time :( but I'm sure it would make a lovely addition to the trip once it re-opens. It is free to enter all places so it's a brilliant low budget day out!
