This was amazing. It took me a while to find your video!!!!! I am almost at my 1 year mark in August. I wash very gently. I was told by my new loctician to braid my hair and have it in this state to encourage it to lock a bit faster because the back is locked and the front is not locked as yet! This braiding technique is EXTREMELY helpful thank you so muchhhhhhhhhhh Georgia!!!!

OMG! I am so glad I stumbled upon this video!! You have some really great tips! I am only 3 months in. I received a little bit of advice from my loctician but not enough! Question: is it bad to use leave in conditioners and mousse and things like that? I had traditional locs before I made the switch so I used those a lot when braiding and curling. Is it a no no with sister locs?

I had locs installed on hair that was past shoulder length, and relaxed from root to end. BIG MISTAKE. I've had so much breakage around the hairline and bunching on almost every single loc, due to the relaxed texture. I'm over 1.5 years locked and thankfully, my hair grows like a weed, so I've got about 5.5 inches of virgin Sisterlocks grown out so far. And my husband has given me around 4 trims so far, to get the nasty stuff out lol. Another year or so and I should have all the bunching cut out and have long HEALTHY locs. Can't wait! Would not recommend installing SL on relaxed hair. P.S. I know that hair cuts aren't recommended for locs that aren't fully matured but thankfully, my virgin locs don't unravel much. My natural texture wants to loc FAST.

Hello Georgia, KZfaq suggested your videos as ones that may be of interest to me. Date of this video indicates two years ago posted. I viewed April 1 2022. Your locs are gorgeous and my, the progress and evolution!😍 My microlocs are six months old... the bunching and frizz is very intense but I'm hanging in there trusting the process. Hope to view your other videos soon.

If you have starter microlocs, do you recommend braiding them while sleeping? I've heard mixed things about this and that braiding your hair before you go to sleep can actually prevent your locs from locing. I was originally going to braid my locs at night but I'm unsure now lol
@GeorgiaZarita2 жыл бұрын
I did and it worked wonders for me. There's no harm in trying and if you don't think it's for you then you can stop whenever you please 😊

@@GeorgiaZarita Thanks, for replying to back 🙂 was your hair short when you started? I cant get my hair to grow for nothing 🙄 I want to try sister locks in the fall . Thanks again and keep posting hair tutorials 🙂
@GeorgiaZarita3 жыл бұрын
It was about 4-5 inches when I started, so quite short. You will see your hairs full potential of growth with sisterlocks as your hair will not break off at the end as much because it is essentially in a constant protective style 😊

I started my locs myself. I know it's not recommended but I am a licensed cosmetologist/Barber and I just can't make the financial commitment. But I love them so I'm doing as much research as possible.... My only question is. Is it best to secure them once they're established? Or wear them down?
@GeorgiaZarita3 жыл бұрын
I'm so sorry, but I'm not sure what you mean by secure them? Or wear them down??
