I adore Alanis so, so much. So dedicated to her convictions and so insightful, intelligent, thoughtful. This is one of her best contributions to this world. And she does it without arrogance.

Alanis Morissette is like a prophet. She also has some podcasts that are an awesome listen. I think they're called "Conversations With Alanis Morissette"

Wow, everytime I hear her speak reminds me of my University lectures. She's a great artist and would also be great at teaching in the social sciences! A very philosophical woman!!💛

Ya but thank God not, because this educational system is laughable and would be a shame if she chose it instead of her "ironically" choosing to be a famous narcissist!

@@Paddyjay12 i dn't find her persona nor char's as her singing char's narcissitic in the least. Maybe u have issues comprehending performance, performative char's, etc. Maybe time for you read some books.. ya know, anthro, socio, psych or really whatever u want. But seeing an expressive creative person as a narcissist is so simple a view as to make u sound like quite the dumdum.

@@18_rabbit I don't think you read my comment correctly.. My comment was a knock at the school system (mostly) and a play on her song "ironic" (in how what I said wasn't actually irony) less on her having a narcissistic persona. We all have "the narcissist" in us.. Some just let it be their guiding force.. The irony that you would reply to my comment as the smart guy/girl that is so well read, (except you didn't comprehend what I was saying) on an Alanis Morissette video about narcissism is quite the inception.. Blessings🙏

@@Paddyjay12You’ve misunderstood @MsLonda20’s comment. You’re also mistaken if you perceive Alanis M to be “a famous narcissist.” She is not. Her understanding of narcissism comes from her home family background. Listen to “Perfect.”

This is the kind of knowledge that my parents knew nothing about and I discovered it after my childhood ended - about age 40. Emotional maturity is so lacking in the world because leaders don’t even know what it is. i.e., Trump.

So wise. Should be no surprise given how greatly she writes. This was all about the personal level but there's also a deeply needed discussion to be had about comletely hostage our attention now is to the vested interests of wealth and power through advertising and propoganda. It's no coincidence that we don't have time to think much at all much less clearly. No wonder the confusion and aimlessness in current conditions.

I was led here! Can you believe I'm a Medium and I live with a narcissist and have done for 20 years! yes it has been a trauma!! he has tried to stop me doing a few things..but esp mediumship since the start! I have prevailed! and am so far winning...but slowly! His fear does not let him want to believe in life after death and what I do in general. Loved your talk! I do not want to leave him and have found ways to live together. It has actually helped me grow in many ways! it has also allowed him to show me where I need to change. I could write a book about it believe me! lol x

Is losing sense of self really a result of some type of neglect in childhood? I think she could be mistaken on that. Maybe it is simply a natural consequence of deep, introspective thought. Perhaps she was born without a strong sense of self. It is no coincidence that highly intelligent people often lack confidence and question their self identities. If you look deep enough, you find that "self" is really just an illusion and therefore it gets harder and harder to retain. This is quite a natural progression for some people. Others are either too ignorant or too afraid to realize that the "self" does not exist.
