The last post for a monarch, being commander-in-chief, would, naturally, be slightly different. But the notes are similar. . .for Commonwealth countries, such as mine.

Unless there is more than one "Last Post", this is definitely not the "Last Post", which most of us have heard many times in our lives at Remembrance ceremonies. The "Last Post" is one of the most familiar tunes to those brought up in Commonwealth and is unmistakeable and this is not it. It's amazing that not a single reporter or commentator has brought up this point in any of the mainstream media, given how much coverage the funeral had. Just when one wants the hushed commentary to tell us something salient about the proceedings, it doesn't.

@Cooper Papinaeu You are right. I wouldn't describe it as a version, though, as, apart from the name, it is completely different from the infantry version.

The first piece of music is the reveille, then followed by the last post. Perhaps as she was commander in chief it was a modified version.

@@Hadlad90I have since found out that there are, indeed, two completely different Last Posts: one for the infantry (the most familiar one, played at tge Cenotaph in London on Remembrance Sunday) and another for the cavalry (the one played here, presumably because it is the State Trumpeters of the Household Cavalry who are playing it).

The one you’ve linked is the Last Post played on Remembrance Sunday. I’m told this version here is the Cavalry Version
