Geezer is the fucking man. What a fucking gifted lyricist and just awesome bass player. I doubt I'd ever have taken bass so seriously as an instrument if it wasn't for what Geezer achieved with it in Sabbath. Raw, in your face but with such great little melodies and harmonies going on. Every band should have a bass player like him!

Just reading Ozzy's biography at the moment and it would make a FANTASTIC movie. There is sadness, there is triumph, there is SO much droll 'Brummie' humour, and what a soundtrack! The interview here, where they're all in big leather chairs, is a taster of the constant piss taking and frustration with each other. Only true friends can love, and hate each other at the same time, as much as this.

I'm laughing just from seeing them laughing, these guys are the best, the most important thing in a band is that the members of the band can still laugh together from a funny story or a joke or other funny situation, it shows that the condition in the band is healthy, thanks for sharing

@forestsoceansmusic 4 жыл бұрын
Great comment by Ozzie at the end that the fact they can still have a good f__king laugh together is way more important to him and gold records and fortunes. He may often sound out of it, but he still comes out with gems like this and others against war. (And "War Pigs" is still the best heavy anti-war song ever recorded.)

It's important to note that when Geezer mentions "skinheads" he's likely NOT talking about Neo Nazis. In England, the original S/Hs were left-wing and made up of white, black and kids from more recent Indian/Pakistani immigrant families. They liked Ska and Reggae as much as they did Punk. The Neo Nazis hijacked that scene largely when Oi!-Punk band Skrewdriver was radicalized by the fascist National Front.

4:07 - I grew up in Detroit and my friend's father was a former biker that went from a custom motorcycle seat maker to a Honda dealership to 2 Honda Dealerships and part owner of a Cadillac dealership...anyway, my friend's father's friend who was a still a biker and coke dealer was smoking a joint with us in the back of the Honda dealership and Zeppelin came on in the shop and he proceeded to tell us a story - said he was the delivery man for the coke at one of Zepp's Detroit shows. When he got there, one of Zepp's handlers dumped half a kilo out on a tray and the band and hangers on just grabbed straws and stuck them in the pile and snorted away, this reminded me of that.

I wonder then, if Sharon may be able to shed some light on Jimi's death, a half-century later?? Peter Grant and Richard Cole, should have picked up Hendrix as a Client, when they had that chance--but--who knows what may then have happened, to the New Yardbirds/Led Zeppelin??
