I watch a lot of these type of you tube programs but this is perhaps the best. The photography filming is near professional (or maybe it IS professional), there is just the right balance of looking at the camera and talking and then good focus on actual work or process. There is a kind of respectful educational quality to the narrative, without sounding condescending and certainly not pedantic. The presenter is a very cool and well-spoken master of how-to-do steps. Not rushed and good at deciding when to explain the tool or movement that is needed and when it is too obvious to bore the viewer. Speaking of being boring, I very much like the frequent comment that it is not necessary to bore the viewer with repeated actions, often covered by time-lapse. I even like the accent of the man's perfect English while obviously a second language. In fact, he speaks more accurate language than many of the knuckle draggers with similar series from the USA. I write only occasional comments, once every two years, and this program is deserving of special recognition. By the way he reminds me of Andrew Camarata, who is one of two or three that I have given similar comments about. Thank you sincerely for this series, D3Sshooter.

Hi Steve. My Dad worked for Massey Ferguson tractors in Trafford Park Manchester England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 after the war in the parts department until he retired in the 70s It was one of the biggest distribution warehouses in Europe at the time.....😄 It’s all gone now with a Asda supermarket on the foot print 🙈 So this video brought many memories back for me because as a boy I played on many tractors in the warehouse as they had full tractors on display so the pickers could find the different parts for the customers lol 😆 Great watching you as always Stevie 😎🇬🇧

Think it's wonderful you keep the old iron running. They were built for longevity, unlike todays modern tractors. Curious to know how long that Loctite fix will last though. Used a similar product (JB Weld) in the past, and it was so so on water applications, especially with a lot of vibration. There are stick welding rods specifically for cast iron which seem to be pretty good.
@D3Sshooter
@D3Sshooter 5 жыл бұрын
Ken Arnold txs Ken. I could have welded it placing the head in the bbq (gas based). Then weld with cast iron rods. But i wanted to test the sticky kit as the cracks were only on the water channels at the outside. Its been holding for over 40 running jhours. Will see how long it will last. If fails then i will weld it

Hi. What a fantastic set of videos. Doing exactly this on the 23c engine as a winter project this year to gain a bit of knowledge and skills. Seeing you doing this first hand will really help, just need to figure out what I'm doing with the timing! Thanks
@D3Sshooter
@D3Sshooter 6 жыл бұрын
Topher Lander txs, the timing is not that hard. Its the cranck to camshaft arrangement ( front lower cover) and the fuel pump . If the engine is still assembled than take the chain cover off. , position the engine so that cyl 1 is at top death center just after the compression stroke. You can do this by watchingbthe valves. And place your own markers if you dont see the originals. Place them on all shafts. I can send you a pdf whitbthe alignment. Good luck
