Probably the hardest I've worked at an IL run, this fight is such a complicated mess. Even smashing my previous best, there's still a lot that can be done to improve this. P3, P4 were pretty bad, and RNG held back a few other phases. Probably the best I've ever done with the Beat section though.

Not gonna lie, last Bernard fase is very long but is still more fair than that bullshit Burst had

Yep, Bernard is very telegraphed and not getting hit once in the last phase isn't too demanding, but The Burst on Furier can almost force you to take a hit so you can damage boost your way to the barriers in time.

One thing about this I found fascinating is that I was watching the devs discuss their thought process behind designing the burst and they said that the final desperation attack was supposed to be comparatively easy compared to the rest of fight despite it being for me the hardest thing in that entire game. I get goosebumps whenever I hear her music pick up because I know what it means >~

Awesome fight dude! Didn't even know you could get a time below 7 minutes on Bernard, let alone a 5:55 :) Semi-unrelated to this, but I watched your Furi run for AGDQ live a few weeks back and it hyped me up enough to pick up the game again after getting destroyed on Furier a year ago. You did great commentary during the run, and both said run and your WR clips feature dozens of techniques and strategies I didn't even know were possible. Furi's sick. Thanks to both you Dircashede and The Edge, who is not only amazing to fight (especially no-hit) but the greatest motivational speaker.

I'm convinced that you and HalfGood are Touhou professionals. Especially you, this fight symbolize the nearly perfection in Furi. This world record, in my opinion, is the result of every single hours you've poured in this game. Its movements, its speed, its attacks, everything lined up for you to conquerer it in less than 6 minutes. I admire your skill very much, you're truly the best Furi player, the best Furi speedrunner, ever.

Just played it through and being strugling with this boss.. The only one I struggle. Just wanted to see what it looks like when some1 destroys it and, well, this was something else :D Amazing gameplay!

@@user-fo9xl1mo3o Funnily enough I think if all RNG went my way, I could genuinely bring it down below 5:30, perhaps 5:20 with absurd strats. There's a whole heap of stuff I learnt just in the last few days for this fight that isn't in this video.

i discovered recently when hes weakened on the 2nd last phase, if you land a fully charged strike (doesnt need to be boosted) after he uses his "1hit combo" (as opposed to the "wave" combos or the 3 hit combo) you can finish him with 1 hit

Totally schooling the Nard-Dog. KZfaq gamers can do ANYTHING these days. On a semi-unrelated note, I think Bernard is some sort of parody of/homage to Dural, with it's blank grey sculpt, obscene difficulty and "A little of every boss" moveset.

I wonder how fast tas can beat Bernard. There are few moments that show this wr was made by human after all. You can't be perfect absolutely everytime it's just impossible

There's also plenty of sub-optimal RNG as well. Could honestly go under 5:20 if not further I think.

Because he is meant to be. He is more like a proof of concept than a real boss.

Yeah I know, it's usually too much effort to re-name every old video (and sad if it's because someone else beats you haha) so most people I know never change them

@@Dircashede yeah, I just didn't know if you were one of those people who like to change them or not (congrats on the time anyway, I just beat Bernard and it took like 20 minutes or something lol)
