So sitting here during the virus im out of coils but have 2 KA1 spools I never used, one is 22g the other 24g. Its not ideal but whatever that's what I have. I usually buy pre built coils but I'm out and decided to make coils. I watched this video a hundred times and finally made my first fused Clapton! It turned out ok but just happy I finally did it. Running a single coil on my pulse v2 came out to 0.41 ohms.

For every set of aliens I make, I make ten sets of fused clapton's. N90 dual core fused claptons are still one of my fave for mechs. Less wire mass, fast ramp up, and still tasty. Great video.

Hi, nice video Question: I am using prebuilt ni80 coils (3mm, 0.45 ohms), at what watts we can safely dry burn it before wicking process (currently i dry burn them at 18-23 watts)

hello i tried it but dont know why my swiwels not turn fast so its becoming twisted the cuts off from drill. any suggesytions ?? i try with 32 ga kanthal

After 5 failed attempts, I gave up on trying 3+ core fused claptons. I'm fine with regular fused. Much easier & forgiving. I still use to much tension on the wrap sometimes but rarely compared to how much I use to.

Whenever I make tricore fused claptons, I use the cap and the threaded portion of a soda bottle with 2 oposing slots cut on it to keep my cores in line. You only need 3, one on each end and a sliding one. From there it's just practice. I hope my little trick helps you out. :)

I never waist my time with 3 core fused claptons. They are too difficult and dont perform well enough to justify the time and effort

@@SherlockHohms I might dabble with flatwire a bit. Will have to go through & find your vids on flatwire again. Have you messed with square wire much? Kidney puncher is the only company I seen selling it & only in n80 I think. I'm fine with any wire but prefer SS 316l. I think its because its what i'm use to & started vaping with. Been mainly using kanthal a1 for a month now. Not bad, just prefer 316l still.

Did you have any recommendation what kind of soap or anything to clean the coil after i make it? Cause sometimes it have some of my sweat or dirty and water + brush just wont work

Hey man I’m new to coil building and was looking to get into build was wondering with your amazon store I seen a lot of things on there kinda overwhelming to look through and know exactly what I would need there’s like four diff swivels 3 drills do I need all the swivels and how do I know what drill to get? hey guys! im new so i have a question. so i just made a fused clapton like this but with 22ga x2 and 40ga; 3mm diameter and 5 wraps; all kanthal a1 and it came out to .24ohm and i vape it at about 80watts. my problem is, im really not diggin the ramp up time. its better than the first one i made with 30ga instead of 40ga...but still not fast enough. would it make a difference if i buy 22ga stainless steel instead of kanthal? or am i going about this the wrong way? thanks in advance!

Hello, I have 28 and 32 gauge ss316l wires. Anybody can recommend how to make coils? I mean 2 strand 3 strand or even 4? I want to make higher ohm coils for double, around 0.5 or 0.6 total- So 1 coil should be around 1 ohm. Thanks for help!

Do you have videos thats explains the difference between wrapping with stainless steel or other types of wires.? I just got into vaping and i do understand ohm law. Im a cable technician and know the formulas.. my question really is just the difference between how the wires responds to steel wrapps and other wires. Spent about 2 hours on your vids today..

Great clip as always. Thanks so much for telling us the way to position the drill for lefties and righties, I've had been building for almost a year with the positions inverted, and after switching, boy what a difference. With that out of the way I've got a question, Why did you wrap in SS? Is it for those sweet blues and purples? Or does it ad anything to the flavor?

@@80elko ssl os great for temp control, very cheap, and once stabilized goes blue and purple which is great for build shoots. I use SSL on my Wasp Nano RDTA for CBD, since it seems vaped CBD should no go over 200°C. :)

Great video Kenny. I usually just buy premade coils but it think I'm ready to try to start building my own. I like higher resistances so what's the best wire to use? I like stainless steel the best. Shooting for .40-.50 ohms.

Hi there, pardon me for getting in here, but if you're shooting fir those resistances while trying to learn to build, your in for a nasty and annoying trip. Let me explain, VERY generally speaking the thinner the core wire, the higher the resistance value. Also when building with round wire, 2 cores will half the resistance of a single core, 3 will divide it by 3, 4 cores will quarter it, and on. Now the thing is SS is one of the materials with the lowest resistances and that means you'll need VERY, VERY, thin cores and the thinner they are the more difficult to work with. If you're shooting for those values, in single coil, I would suggest 2 cores of Nichrome 80 in 28-29 gauge, and wrapped in 40 at least. The thinner the clapton wire, the better heat dissipation, the longer cotton life you get. I hope this helps. :)

I like stainless steel a lot. Its softer and easier to work with than Ni80 and I'm a fan of how it performs

When its beyond cleaning. You can just rewick and clean them multiple times. Once it's to the point where it wont get clean or tastes bad, it you build a new one, then change it.

It's pretty much all I use for my round wire, I wouldn't recommend their ribbon as it's never been straight. I've been using them for 5+ years and had one issue with some high gauge wire wrapped under itself so it was locked onto the spool but they fixed it immediately. Nothing but happy with em.

Not the cleanest wire, or best spooled, ribbon... just don't. The SS 316L has a weird TCR, so will be very tricky to make it work... But, it's cheap... Specifically if you live in UK... It's what I normally use for 3 years now...
