Mappa did everything they could with what they were given, they had to cut corners since they were rushed and even had to give it to a different animation team then the one that did God of Highschool. They didn't do a bad job, the people who made the deadline did a bad job. If they had more time it would have looked alot better

Can we appreciate the perfect set up by Megumi here? First the distraction to allow him to charge his cursed energy. The using max elephant to spray him out the room. Not ONLY did it give NUE space to strike, but also made him super conductive to increase the effectiveness of the hit! Awesome fight strategy!

Fushiguro use of the tonfas was so cool. I loved that Gege uses so many unique traditional martial arts weaponry like that and the three sectioned staff in the show. Especially since the animation shows them using each weapon correctly, with forms and techniques that are accurate to what is taught in the real world. Shows they really did their research!

I heard people talking about the female characters in this series, but the male characters are the coolest I've seen in a while in anime. Even the main character is likable and distinct! Megumi is my favourite, apart from the doll-making director.

See that's the thing, all the characters are good. People point out the female characters specifically cause, even in very good shounen, women are almost universally given the shorter end of the stick when it comes to character writing.

one thing that I love about JJK is the way they delve into every character and their drive. life is not black and white in any situation, and complex scenes like this capture those complexities perfectly and have you almost rooting for both people fighting
