You might want to try experimenting with using a loft for the vertical strip and let me know your thoughts. Here's wishing everyone a good year ahead!

That was an interesting tip with the arc projection constaints. That could come in very handy. In this case you could also re-sketch an arc and make it co-radial to the original arc. (Maybe first projecting the original arc as a construction line. I forget if F360 allows constraints to non-projected geometry.)
@Fusion360School
@Fusion360School Жыл бұрын
Come to think of it, a better way would have been to sketch a centerpoint arc. With a centerpoint arc, I can start by clicking on the center of the original arc and then clicking on the top and bottom horizontal lines. And then dimension the offset.

Hi, are you referring to the projected arc? An alternative way is to sketch a centerpoint arc instead. With a centerpoint arc, you can start by clicking on the center of the original arc and then clicking on the top and bottom horizontal lines. And then dimension the offset.

@@Fusion360School You can add what is called fuzzy skin but it effects the entire model.is there way to add texture to a specific faces/surfaces in fusion 360 that is actually physically there and will come through in a 3D print?

Right at 8:03, where you hover over the endpoint for Body2(1), the body created from the 15 degree revolve. You cursor changes from an X to a square and allow you to snap the start of the line. Mine never does, it remains an X. Can't make it snap even with "Snap" ticked in the Sketch panel. Has anyone encountered this before???
@stevemcgraw7479

I did figure this out. My default settings for Fusion 360 didn't have "Auto project edges on reference" selected. Once I toggled that (under Profile->Preferences) it snapped without any issue.

I have a slight problem with the patching feature (as shown at 15:22). When I select the three lines to patch on top of the shape, my "OK" button is grey and I cannot press it to complete the procedure. Do you know where the problem could lie? I've already tried many things, but it stays and I cannot proceed with the design

I am trying to reproduce your design, but when applying the patch function i can only select the straight edge 1 & 2 and not the curved one, either at the top or the bottom. So i am not able to close the body at the step. Any idea why this cannot be done ?
