As I follow along it seems so easy, but the minute I'm off on my own I get stumped occasionally. I will just keep at it as I'm sure this will get easier with repetition. Thanks for the video. Also, I don't mind at all about the length. I could watch videos like this all day especially when it's about a topic that I want to increase my knowledge on.

I've used 3D-printed parts in order to create tooling parts for shaping sheet metall. Wouldn't it be a cool option if you create a sheet metall object and from that can create the tooling part/parts with the click of a button? Is there any option for that in Fusion or any other CAD-program today?

How do you create outside miters? I am working on a drawing for a tank and I would like to have a 2" flange going around the top edge of the tank, which will allow the tank to rest on this flange when placed in the frame. I would like to have each flange to meet at the end with a 45 degree miter for welding. I just can figure out how to create the mitered corners.

Thank you as always :) I love the sheet metal stuff. Its amazing how simple and intuitive it now is, compared to when I used to do that sort of stuff 2 decades ago in 2D Autocad! I almost want to go out and find an application for it so I can have a play with it ;) Question: once the design is flattened out, is the output of that to DXF the feature which is now limited to the pro version?
@cadcamstuff
@cadcamstuff 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching. Yes, you can still export a sketch as a dxf. You you could project the flat pattern in a sketch and export that. You could also program the part in the 2D CAM workspace and send the code directly to the machine and avoid the dxf.
