Still working in mohair here but your uhm excitement about sommer knits somehow makes me want to cast on one of the umpteenth bralette/camisole/top by JessieMae that I’ve been collecting in my library and never started. You know 50yo arms I don’t really feel like showing around. I might decide I wouldn’t care? * moves Summer Secret Crop on top of my Ravelry queue

You should put a removable stitch marker in your tops at the end of each podcast to watch the progress if you don't finish it. I'm thinking about the Robinson Wrap Cardi, where you said "there was progress but it doesnt look like it". Proof!! And easier to watch it grow. Otherwise, thanks for the update! Always a pleasure to craft during your podcasts :)

first i want to say i love your energy and the goofy chaotic energy you radiate :^) also you have such clear nice skin. i hadn't seen the Square Tee until now and i think that might be my next cast-on, it's such a nice simple spring/summer design! i really enjoy your podcast

For purling, I have completely switched over to combination style and have found that it's helped with rowing out a lot, plus the motion puts less strain on my hands. There's probably some helpful tutorial videos on KZfaq, but basically you just kind of put the yarn between the left and right needles and then just push it through the stitch with the right needle. You don't have to move your yarn finger at all (assuming you knit continental). It basically just wraps the yarn the other direction around the needle, so then on the knit side you have to knit through the back loop to avoid twisting your stitches. Also, if you're purling one of the combination purls, you need to stick the needle in through the back of the front leg -- kind of hard to explain but you do get used to the motion pretty easily.

About the looser tension on the purl side: I now do the Norwegian purl technique because of my looser purl tension so that is my suggestion. It has helped create a even fabric with no striations. Hopefully this might be useful for you

I've been looking for summer knitwear and found your channel last weekend, So far loving your videos!❤ Since your criteria matches mine, sleeveless top video was very helpful! I wanna see your yarn stash and your plan using them, and I'm curious about your knitting tools!

It's so cool how you can have many projects going at the same time. I wish my brain worked like that. I only ever have two going, and they have to be in different methods ex: crochet and knit.

To be honest some of the stuff i start definitely gets dropped because i lose the magic! Im very jealous of monogamous knitters since you guys probably finish projects in a more timely manner 😂

I always have to use a smaller needle tip when I knit stockinette flat too. But I also tried purling Portuguese style and that works too without changing my needle size

you mentioned about being slow on crochet and that's how we feel about knitting as well for sure sdjhsjh it took me whole two months to finish a basic beannie once and i never really tried knitting after that but with your videos im thinking about picking up my needles again quite often

Another great podcast. You always make me laugh 😂 Good luck with your wips. I’ve had to start writing down my knitting plans to prevent cast-on-itis 😅. I’ve found that I’m more of a monogamous knitter. I do have multiple wips but I have to work them one at a time or they never get finished

I have the same tension issues and I noticed how it is visible in some of your knits. I thought it looks endearing in the grey Maude, which makes me more chill about the unevenness of stitch tension in my own garments. Now I am considering to reverse it for the cardigan i am making, so that I use different needle sizes for the arms which are knit in the round, so that i can have that uneven look all over. It's a style feature after all :D

Oh i love the scrap yarn Olympe cardigan! Already bought and started selecting from my "stash"! ;) Will also try my hand at the modified Maude tee, I like that you did long sleeves and I have been looking for a good base pattern for an ocean themed intarsia I've had in my head for a while, my idea is to make a matching mini me one for my son :)

My cat steals my chair all the time or sits on my lap just when I am thinking of getting up. Tyrants. Sweet, furry, tyrants. Fibra Natura makes a good yarn, I am using a 50 merino/ 50 silk called Heaven for a summer top. It knits up surprisingly breezy and light. Heaven is discontinued but maybe you can find some second hand. I am also making the ballerina top by two of wands in Purl Soho's Cattail silk, I'm holding the yarn doubled. I'm in WNY and the weather has been crazy over here too. Spring and Old man Winter are clearly duking it out.
