Oh yeah I used to doodle in my books all the time when I was in class. When I was a kid, my mom was worried about that but one of my teachers reassured her by saying it was my way of listening. Not all the teachers are like that though!!

I’m knitting the Tulleries Polo as well 😀 I just don’t get it. Are you supposed to knit the stitches as you read them on the wrong side or reverse them in your head? Probably a silly question…

it was 2023. i made a crochet mesh sweater for my friend's birthday. she had the audacity to ask me if she can regift it to another friend bc she didnt prepare a gift for them. my dumb ass epmpathy kicked in and i said yes... i literally dont know what i was thinking. she asked me if i will make her another one. i AGAIN said yes bc i wanted the whole thing to be over. i literally thought that it was common sense to fuck off and forget about it. but no. she for about a year now continues to remind me that i have to make her another sweater. and she made a comment about the original sweater not being the color that she wanted. like girl im sorry but who the fuck do you think you are??????????? it still pisses me off so much that i agreed to make her another one. i did learn a powerful lesson though.

I DO see the vision!! I think the acrylic yarn will work out better for the vest because you don't exactly expect a vest to keep you warm anyway. Congrats on hitting 10k, you deserve it! You seem so spontaneous and chaotic at times and it inspires me so much to be more free and creative with my knitting even though I'm a beginner!!!!

I'm a reasonably good knitter. The comment I get most is that I should sell my knits. The reaction when I tell them that very few people want to buy a $1,000 sweater is always surprise. Then I explain that there is an investment in the yarn, the tools, and the $1,000 wouldn't begin to acknowledge my expertise or the time put into the garment. After that they understand that knitting isn't a cheap hobby. In fact, most hobbies are an investment.

I've had family members slap the crochet out of my hands when I was a teen, as a way to motivate me to have a more productive hobby ( i could only crochet doilies back then)... Fast forward me in my thirties visited a friend that knits, crochets everything for the house, all the clothes and proudly displays them - for me it was a light switch, I am an adult now and I can do the hobbies that I want so I have been knitting and crocheting pretty much non-stop, and I say if its acceptable for people to scroll of their phone its acceptable for me to knit on a sock 😅 Family members constantly ask me how much I make from selling the pieces I make and are shocked when I tell them I don't and change the topic

Please tell me about your cardigan. I am inspired to knit the same thing. How do you decide what to knit and what yarn to use when there’s so many choices? The internet has made everything available to everyone all at once! Also why did you come that you aren’t keen for fuzzy yarn these days? I am new to “fuzzy” yarn since I was looking at all these patterns that call for it. My first reaction with knitting a swatch is it’s not a great pleasure to knit with.

Ah,I felt the “are you a grandma” comment. I’m in my mid 30’s and I get this so many times. One guy actually laughed at me saying that I need grey hair to knit so I should just stop knitting until I reach pension age. I asked him to explain to me how is this funny and after seeing that I’m not amused,he stopped.

I laughed so hard at the first 10 seconds of this video. And BECAUSE OF THAT I am going to be the person to crush everything you said about the comments being positive and I'm gonna say: girl just rip back that ribbing and do some decreases so the sleeves fit you at your wrists. Do it before you weave ends in and it won't even be a big deal. that sweater is so funny and it deserves to be worn and you will get so much more wear out of it if it's not driving you crazy. I feel I can morally tell you this because I just painstakingly tinked back a bunch of rows to shorten a sleeve that had a similar problem.

I love your "heehee haha" podcast even tho I'm old enough to be your grandmother. Congratulations on 10,000 subscribers. I'm not surprised. I'm reading a book that has shed a lot of light on the fashion industry and how detrimental the mass making of clothing is for our planet. It's not talked about very much. We dispose of clothing and don't give it a second thought about where it ends up. I love that knitters, crocheters and sewists are making clothing that lasts and satisfies our crafty imaginations. Good for you to make a crochet bag that the fashion industry sells for much more than its worth. Can't wait to see it! Stay cool!

I agree with you about the scrap purse. I don’t like crochet in high fashion for that reason. I’d rather pay someone and know the hands that made it or make it myself.

Congrats on 10k subscribers!! I really feel ya on the tight collar - glasses removal process - RIP me re-knitting same collar 4x. My mind also follows the same thoughts on high fashion and crochet/knit pieces - yay breaking the mental model that fashion should cost pennies, but also who is really getting the profit in the process for higher priced items? Looking forward to seeing your $3.99 handmade version~

Okay, hear me out. What if you make those flowers and then after the wedding you make a garland from them and hang it in your office? It would be nice to keep them on display. And definitely less wasteful than real flowers, of course if you plan to keep or reuse them. I already said it, but you deserve all the subscribers you have and definitely way more, you are so funny and chill. Oh, and could we get a vlog from the fabric district if you'll go there to buy those leather handles?

Poor people behaviour???? Gross thing to say and gross mentality. This person clearly has no concept of how expensive fibre and fabric is. I have had a very close friend tell me that she doesn't like when I knit as were talking because I'm not giving her my full attention. And yet she has a child that she brings every time we hang out now. Like I get that it's different, and I love her kid, but they are also distracting. She also said it was an unhealthy hyper-fixation which was shocking to me. I also had a coworker tell me that based on the way I dress (I wear something I knit most days) I clearly don't care what people think about me. I'm sorry what??? Apparently she meant it as a compliment but it was dressed as an insult lolol.

Cobasi is an interesting yarn. I just got some to try for a ribbed tank because I want stretch without woollen warmth. Can see using it more generally if I like it.
