Is there a way to boost the audio gain more than the 10db dial and the audio input to 99? When I plug my handheld sennheiser md46 mic in through XLR the levels don't go above -25db.

Can you choose how many audio tracks you want recorded? Or does it always record 8 tracks leaving the unused ones blank like the FS7? I would like my video files to contain just 2 mono tracks, or even one stereo track if possible.

The FX9 always records 8 tracks of audio??!! I only need 2! Why does this camera record 8 audio tracks (most of them empty) and is it possible to only record just two??

on the side of the camera , there a volume control that say -vol+

This camera offers great functions and imagery, but holy crap, be prepared to dig deep into menu's to adjust simple settings. This is not a run and gun camera. It requires a masterclass in just menu and camera settings. The horrible menu layout does not make this a rentable camera because it takes a few days to really get a basic sense of all the camera settings.
