How many should I do as a beginner and how long before progressing to do a traditional push-up?

@@TheStrongAngle Hi, I am also trying out inclined push-ups. However, one of the first things that happen when I start out is for my elbows and arms to move sidewards as I come down. I wonder if it is because of not enough strength or the biomechanics of it. I should be strong enough to do an inclined push up and tried against multiple surfaces of different heights. It is the same in all cases. Could you please let me know your opinion?

This can be done up to 30 reps. If your form breaks down you should rest and try performing sets of 10 or 15 reps.

If they were all you could do, I'm sure you would be able to do it. Could add bands, weight vest etc

What if i cant bend my wrists all the way

You could modify by forming a fist to keep your wrist in neutral. Placing a small towel between your knuckles can make this more comfortable. You could also roll a small towell and place between the palm and wall to change the angle of wrist extension making it more comfortable. Hope this helps!

@@TheStrongAngle thanks for the tips. i actually bought a pair of push up handles so i dont have do bend my wrists and do incline pushups on the bed. kinda lame im this weak lol but soon i should be able to do them normaly
