I had a great time, my first G-Fest. Backstage in Dojo was very chaotic, but it was still fun.

Looks like a lot of fun. Wish there were Godzilla conventions in either Alabama or north Florida.

Chicago isn't a long flight, and the hotel isn't expensive. Come on up!

I had kind of a a rough time there (I was the blue sabertooth with the pink mohawk) to the point where I had personal safety concerns. As a fellow nerd of color, I heard some stuff that really put me on edge, especially after someone grabbed me from behind during a photoshoot.

Oh no! I’m so sorry that happened to you. People suck sometimes.

I talked to you after the grab incident. Can't explain away what you heard, but since I used to be the only black face at G-Fest I'd say that we're always going to get 1% of any crowd that's off-song. Don't let that 1% be your guide. See you in '24, I hope.

Glad you can still enjoy the show. I had to cut it out cause it just kept getting worse and worse. It will never be as good as the 90s/early 2000s shows/Arlington Hts. era. It has basically transferred to paying to get to wait in line for a dealers room. Kinda sad.....

Honestly, after this year, I might be done with G-Fest. I love hanging out with my friends and being around fellow Godzilla nerds, but for the most part there’s really nothing there for me anymore. Besides, it’s super expensive!

@@KaijuKim You are absolutely correct. The admittance and parking alone are WAY over the top and the "celebs" now charge whereas "back in the day" you could just find them somewhere and get your stuff signed and picture or two. Not to mention the price gouging in the dealers room which I heard about on several Facebooks and KZfaqs last year. But not shocked. I literally have a warehouse of goodies I can't even display in my basement in boxes and Sterlite tubs so no real need to spend when I have 100s and 100s of toys I got back in the 80s/90s I can't even put on display...and I have a house.
