They definitely mention Savage in the pre chorus, Baddie in the rap and Fearless close to the end. No way it was an accident to put those specific words in.

It's Soyeon, who started the Y2K revival, so I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that she'd start a 2nd Gen revival. That aside, this song/video has SO much buried in it that you can spend hours finding all the easter eggs and references. But it's (G)I-DLE. What do you expect?

You definitely need to check out the lyrics for "Wife", because they're WILD. This comeback has been nothing short of a banger. I don't think I've ever heard a song as addicting as "Wife" and "Super Lady". I'm sending them my bill from the hospital after this

Whenever someone complains to me about nonsense English "ruining (G)I-DLE songs/KPOP" I like to ask them to explain to me what a "Wonderwall" is and how might I build one, or for the intricacies of "Californication" and how one achieves such a state. I ask them which dictionary Mary J Blige pulled "hateration" and "holleration" from and which Thesaurus I might be able to find "MMMBop". Then of course, for a finale, I ask them to both spell and define the meaning of "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" before politely telling them to shush.

I have read production estimates that the music video for "Super Lady" cost close to US$1 million, and just from the scale of the sets, the number of dancers, the lighting, etc., I can see it. This SCREAMS one of Soyeon's PowerPoint concepts, and say what you will about CUBE, but they clearly know where their bread is buttered. Sell 1.8 million copies in one day - you can get your company to pay for anything. It will be interesting to see just how big a truck full of cash CUBE will back up to Soyeon's door next year in an effort to keep (G)I-DLE under contract (I don't think there is a truck of cash big enough to get them to renew, but we shall see...)

As a K-pop fan since 2003 and also a Blackjack since 2NE1 debut, i totally agree with your bold statement. I really felt too the vibe of the second gen and the vibe of 2NE1 'i am the best'.

I'm not 100% sure if it was intentional. But just like you mentioned visually, it seems that they are paying homage to the groups of the 2nd generation. Such as 2ne1, T-ara after school and so on. But if you pay attention, they also do and mention through the lyrics songs of the Girl groups of this new generation. Songs like Savage (Aespa) Baddie (IVE) and Fearless ( Le Sserafim) .. Knowing Soyeon, I don't wonder at all that it was intentional on her part. Kind of like it's a statement. We are the supr ladies of today. ❤

Whenever idle comes back they change the industry they set the tone for what will happen in the year. They said we will bring back 2nd gen for the year. Like other groups do pay attention to what they put out and companies would like to go a similar route to idle. I could be wrong, but I have noticed, and few other reactors have pointed this out too. They really do shape the industry.

The set design of the concert reminds me of Single Ladies MTV Awards in like 2009 and the crystal. bodysuit reminds me of Beyonce experience as well. Apparently, Soyeon was inspired by Renaissance which I found out after. This is my fav song by them!

You're so right, about their attitude. They're all so talented and real, and together they are able to make such a joyful sound. Which is why I love them.

The love and growth of kpop entirely relies on those of us that embraced "imperfect" English lyrics just because the genre is fun. It was super common around 2010 and you just rolled with it, judgy folks need to move along if they think it's cringe.

95% of those people complaining about (G)I-DLE "broken" English lyrics are native English speakers (and let's be honest here, mostly Americans) that couldn't communicate in a foreign language even if their lives depended on it. So yeah, you got artists from the other side of the globe that try to communicate in their own way in a language they could understand, and yet, all they do is bitching about grammar and lack of English subtitles.
