My friend's 2009 g37 was bought in 2012 and it was never changed since 2012 at 70 000 Km. we changed it on this weekend and the oil was still clear.???

Since you have no carbon producing combustion like you do in the engine to make the oil black usually the gear oil will look good for a long time unless you have moisture or a mechanical problem. LSD systems will provide some color due to friction plates but an open diff will usually always be clean with well over 100k.

1. Will the old rear diff fluid come out well although the car isn’t warmed up? 2. Is it possible to do rear diff fluid change without lifting/jacking up the car?
@PZPal Жыл бұрын
1. It's better to warm it, but most will come out with cold engine anyway. 2. Yes, if you can reach for drain and fill plug and do the work. I know people were able to do it, but since I have ramps I decided not to try to reach when vehicle is on the ground.

@@PZPal thank you for replying! Thank you so much for replying!! Could you please explain me how you could top off without jack stands? Were you able to crawl in to top off and torque filler plug without jacking off?
@PZPal Жыл бұрын
@@Qkfltpdls777 I never done it, but I've read on forums. I think they did not torque it, but did it just approximately. My guess is you do most of it just be feeling with touch and watching from side. It's pretty tough if you ask me, but doable.

How come you used sae 90? Is it supposed to be 75-90 or 80-90? Have a 15 Q40 so trying to find the right fluids.
@PZPal Жыл бұрын
SAE 90 is just as great, I did lengthy research because this one was the cheapest and from what I've seen, the performance is identical.

Did u find out what the right oil type is for the q40?? Im planning on doing the same job on my 2015 q40 awd and i dont know what oil should i use
@yaldor Жыл бұрын
@@georgerosales179 no, owners manual is conflicting and the dealer parts department doesn’t know either. Didn’t wanna put anything random until I was certain about the proper fluid.

@PZPal wrong sir it is not identical and why are you choosing your fluid based on cheapest

Yeah, the procedure should be identical

Where'd you get those ramps? I need some of those!
@PZPal2 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! Ramp is called Kwik-Lift. I'd say that they are as safe as it can get. New ones go for about $1800, but I found one on FB Marketplace for $500 or $600

Cheapest fluid isn't always a good choice

Correct, but if it's cheapest good brand with good reviews, I'll take the cheapest one.

Good video but always buy OEM if you want your car to last
