I'm working on a G56 and wondering if ther is a go no go spec on the synchros

My ‘17 RAM Cummins 6.7 that just needed a turbo actuator at 72,000, and clutch at 86,000. I fully expected some new expense on that truck. But when I got the clutch in, I also had the shop put in a Banks intake elbow. Then some force took a hold of me and I got tunes on an EZLink, AND Banks Intercooler. With street and race tunes my cfm was limited at 400cfm with stock CAI. I switched to a KN oiled filter in the RAM CAI box. That took me to 422 cfm. I’ve just added the K&N turbo air intake pipe, replacing the stock air intake resonator/silencer. That didn’t improve cfm but in tests I found I picked up 4-5l% in manifolds density and lower their temps relative to the turbo air density’s temp. I then think what will break yet. I wonder if towing with the add power and torque wlll be too much for the GS6. I have a dual-disk clutch. This episode keenly impressed me , that - that’s the way to go.

There’s still plenty of room to go with a G56 in your application. But I can’t recommend these cases enough.

Wouldn’t an nv5600 be better in this situation with hi HP?

In stock form I’d say yes, however the gain of the heavy case puts them close to the same level in my opinion, and there’s far less to change and far less investment than to convert the truck over to a 5600. Plus, very soon here we’ll have some billet gears that will rocket the G56 past the nv5600 in capacity.
