Cross-country flying from Bankstown (Sydney) to Inverell (Regional NSW) via Shellharbour (Wollongong) in a G58 Baron; IFR flight with radio failure; using Foreflight in Australia; Multi-engine instrument flying, visual approach into Inverell, DME/GNSS arrival into Shellharbour, using engine lean-assist, CTAF procedures, General Aviation Australia.

I’ve heard a few people in aviation pronounce Quirindi wrong, especially people based out of Sydney. It’s Quirin-die just for future reference Kinda like its close neighbour Murrurundi. Easy mistake I guess when you have a suburb in Sydney called Yarrumundi. 😂 But yeah fun fact for you. Nice video, I hear you on centre flying that thing around quite regularly.

Neat video Steve. Did I spot an Icom IC-706 on the far right of the panel there? I assume you're using that for HF comms.

Yes, it has HF.. although I admit I’ve never had to use it

If I remember lost comms procedures (if you had of had both radios die), squawk 7600, listen on the nav aids if able, since you're VMC land at a appropriate airport (which is probably shellharbour anyway) and transmit anyway with "transmit blind". I need to revise all this stuff before my instrument flight test in a couple weeks.

That’s it. Fortunately I still had COM2 working fine… and then COM1 came good again. Strange!
