Awesome! I'll certainly check them out! I tried those that a person can get at big box stores and wasn't very pleased. Since my accident, I've noticed a chance in the way I walk (two broken legs/ankle) and the discomfort in the shoes I absolutely loved. Thank you for the great review!

The benefit of these insoles in my opinion is a proprioceptive effect that reinforces good active foot engagement while pedalling. There is almost no real support except at minimal power output and/or for very light riders, and that's fine.

Maybe this can help other heavy patients, try Sketchers Max Air cushion shoes and leave the insoles in the shoe. Add Kelaide arch support insoles from amazon on top of the existing shoe insole. The only combo that stopped plantar fascitis pain along with heel spurs, collapsed arches, some arthritis, and lots of weight on the feet. 9 months of pain total went to foot doc took 5 months to get orthotics. They used a seated foot scan machine, with footmaxx "custom" orthotics 8 weeks later. A PT looked at my foot and the medical orthotics and not nearly enough support, foot was pronating when standing on orthotic from neurtal postion. They are worthless and no better than old worn out tennis shoes. Sketchers and the Kelaide have really helped.

I like the adjustability, but as a long-distance runner (165 lbs) I don't see that thin strip of plastic holding up. If the curved piece flexes what's the point? I've destroyed inserts that had arch supports that looked thicker than the G8. I think I'll stick with my rigid orthotics. Good call on the fwd thickness though. I end up sanding them thinner up front.

Hey Adam, I recently purchased these. I have started with level 3 arches. A very strange thing has happened, even though they feel comfortable, I have genuinely less power, when I take them out my watts go up for the same effort by 50/60. Is this because the arches are too big for me do you think? I thought the opposite would be the case!

Could you cut a portion of the fore part of the orthotic off. I wear sandals with a removable foot bed, and sometimes the orthotic is too long. Also, I wear a size 8 to 8.5 woman’s. What size should I get.?

These insoles do not attempt to fix the metatarsal issue. My right foot toe after riding 20 km starts to get swollen and I feel it is not exerting pressure on the shoe. I cut a piece of an old insole and just glued beneath my toe and I feel better but since there is no gradual incline of this new piece it feels bulky and not comfortable . Any solution for this. Thanks

The G8s have been recommended by some reputable bike fitters. My question involves the ease of set up. I see some rather simple guidelines on the G8 website, but that doesn't tell me WHEN to move the support up or back, or side to side. Have you had success with patients setting the G8 up themselves?

You wouldn't. That's the only challenge. That's what I like about them. You can experiment and change the arches based upon comfort.

Depends on the application. If flat footed I wouldn’t recommend these if you’re flat footed if for walking or running. For cycling they’re perfect as cycling isn’t load bearing. But for walking or running there will wear quite quickly not only in the thin toe area but also when an individual is flat footed it puts an enormous amount of pressure the arch support, thus flatting it. Even with flat feet when cycling you still need some arch support caused by over pronouncing of the feet. Your feet maybe flat but your knees and ankles aren’t designed to cater so you need to gently counteract the roll in when laying down the watts.
