After he got back from trip in van and neighbors saw them packing up that camper in driveway and leave for a few days, could it be possible that they took him somewhere and left him and camper (knowing he would have to be hidden a long time and need supplies) somewhere in wilderness or even a family members property or back yard. And on the return home the parents purchase another motor home to make it look like they came back with same one.
