You asked for a study on the book of Galatians, and here we go! I’m really excited to dig in and work our way through this book. And our focus will be a little bit different than you may be used to-we’re going to approach this Bible study with an eye for the theological themes that speak to the relationship between the Christian and the Law of Moses. And Galatians has a lot to say on that issue.
Do any of the Old Testament laws apply to us? If so, in what way? What about the Ten Commandments? Has that changed under the New Covenant? What is Paul talking about in Galatians 6 when he shows us how to fulfill what he calls the “Law of Christ"?
Here in Part One we’re going to establish the historical and literary setting of Galatians and work our way through the first chapter and into chapter two.

My son was leading ( 32 yrs old) his family in the direction of “ Hanging on His Words” with Ken and his counterpart Sean. I knew there was something very wrong about these guys and as I asked friends for help in discerning what is was, they both had their own personal fires and could not help. After much crying , because I saw my precious , dearly loved son, wife and young grandchildren were Torah followers. When the Holy Spirt connected the dots and showed me this, it broke my heart , so I cried and cried and cried. Then realizing my friends couldn’t help, I wholeheartedly turned to the Holy Spirit and said , “ YOU are truth and You are the teacher “. It was a defining moment in my life , how HE kept me so focused and brought the right material to me. You are the main one, along with testimonies of those who had gotten out of Torah observation and why. I sent this Galatians teaching to my son and it has made a very horrible thing into a good thing ; to know what false teaching looks like. I say all this to say, thank you for using your gift from God ,so well. You are honoring God so well and there is no way you can know the impact you are having on others , like little ole me and my family. Please teach other books of the New Testament. I’m listening and studying to Galatians the third time Oh, by the way, I took all I was made aware of to many pastors in my area -NW Arkansas (NW Arkansas has the Walton family’s spending their money on super growing this area. They have done some nice things but ,also, some down right evil things too. They know not what the are doing, because they are mostly lost people with an overflow of money. A Big Overflow )So, Because what I saw , that Christians were the target and I wanted them to warn their youth and …. May God bless you in ways you never imagined understanding His Word and May He protect your relationships and continue to make you aware of the evil ones tricks Have an exuberant day in the Lord ❤ ( by the way, I’m great at grammar and sentence structure, but typing on this tiny phone messes me up ,so please overlook it 🥰

@@mavrickglo Don’t worry at all! I’m in the same situation, have been for over a year. I saw an earlier comment by another person that said they placed the word of God above the word of man, and I have not found this to be true at all with the local group here. In fact, whenever I have felt led to speak out or read something, I was told by one person to not quote the apostle Paul! Don’t get me wrong, these are very cheerful people who really think that they are doing something very special. But I have noticed that they avoid the New Testament, and especially the book of Galatians. Two or three of the men within this group are a little closer as friends to me and we go out to eat lunch occasionally. I’ve actually been able to speak more freely with them, apart from a group meeting. I’ve even told them that they are honestly really not keeping Torah! And they couldn’t deny it, admitting to doing things that would be considered work on a Sabbath etc. I’ve only spoken out in group meetings when I felt led by the Holy Spirit to do so. And they have it kicked me out! Like the other fellow said you are probably there to possibly plant seeds, so please don’t worry, have a smile on your face, and share your heart as you feel led to do so by the Holy Spirit. I love this teaching by professor Solberg. Stay strong and fight the good fight of faith!

It's absolutely astounding that the battle between Judaisers and the Gospel are still fighting this silly battle today. Why? Do they not accept Paul's words, and instead look for nuances and invented tripping points over which to cause others to stumble? Have they no fear of the Most High?

It will be interesting to see how Rob defines the Judaisers. Paul defines them quite clearly in Galatians itself, that they don't even keep the law themselves, are false brothers and only want to boast in the Galatian's flesh. As a TO believer myself of coming up to 2 years now, all of the TO believers that I've met have a healthy fear of the Most High. In fact I think that's why a lot of us keep his commandments. We realise we broke his law and now we want to keep it. Grace is not in contradiction to the torah. Psalm 119:29 "Put false ways far from me and graciously teach me your law!"

Thank you so much for studying and sharing Galatians . This book is for me the atomic bomb on this matter, after Romans, Corinth, Hebrew, and Timothy. As you have refute pro-thora theologians, others do the same with you :) Up till now I see the difference in attitude. You really have a heart to bring light into this matter and you choose your words very well. I compliment you for this and your humbleness when you invite thora observers to correct you when you are wrong and you do not make emotional, humiliating jokes about their theology. You have compassion for them! I cannot say the same of most of them. Most of them see themselves as Christian-Plus. Though Christmas and Easter are not on their menu, birthdays are! Birthdays are described in de bible of Satan. it is similar to our celebration: presents, nice food and celebrating the one who is one year older. Of course satan is doing it to oppose God. The bible says, not the beginning but the end of a situation is important. Referring this to thora observers, the bible states that if you have failed on one, you are guilty of all. Just as you said in other videos: first fascinated, stimulated, then complicated, suffocated, ending in legalism. Paul always explains on one side the thora and the other side faith. Could it be for this reason that Jesus said: will I find faith when I come back?

You know brother Solberg, I’ve begun to attempt studying possible reasons for the apostle Paul’s imprisonment. Some scholars have suggested that there were deep concerns and fears over what some perceived as Paul’s abandoning his Jewish heritage, and feeling fear that Paul was not standing firm on Torah supremacy. In a way, when you read from Galatians 2:4, pertaining to false brethren spying out his liberty in Christ, and seeking to bring him into slavery/bondage, this came to mind. Understandably, in Galatians 2:4, he’s using the term in more of a spiritual sense, but it did make me think about how physically he was put into slavery/bondage as well. Thanks for your teaching! I love it when you make me think!

Thank you, Darren! I think we're all tempted toward legalism (I know I am!) because it feels right, in our human nature, to follow a list of rules. And the NT certainly does have a lot to say about living a righteous life and making good choices. And when we love God, we want to do what He asks of us. So the desire often starts in a good place. But as we try to "follow the rules" it is so easy to take our eyes off of the Rule Giver and start elevating the rules! It's so much easier to follow a list than to work on a relationship. Thankfully we are not saved by any list or our own righteousness, but through faith in Christ, whose Spirit indwells and guides us, and whose mercy is new every morning. Blessings, RLS

Rob, Who was Paul?  Star student of Pharisaic Judaism (Gal 1:14)  Studied under Gamaliel, grandson of Hillel, founder of the school of Hillel (Acts 22:3)  The preeminent scholar of his time  Zealous for Jewish Law before his conversion (Gal 1:14)  Part of the religious police - apprehended those thought to be opposing Jewish Law (Acts 26)  Probably would have risen to have become an important member of the Sanhedrin.  Became a traitor to Judaism for the “cause of Christ”  His name is discredited in Jewish records. I’m glad to see that we agree on so many points about Paul. But we diverge on what Paul was taught by Gamaliel. Remember that Gamaliel was the grandson of Hillel, founder of the school of Hillel. Hillel, in his time, was considered the highest-ranking member of the PHARISEES and we can be quite sure that Hillel’s influence was passed down to his grandson, Gamaliel. The scribes and Pharisees, in turn, were typically aligned in their resistance to Messiah Yeshua and His doctrine. So, what was the bone of contention between the Pharisees and Messiah Yeshua? 1 Then came to Jesus scribes and PHARISEES, which were of Jerusalem, saying, 2 Why do thy disciples TRANSGRESS the TRADITION OF THE ELDERS? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. 3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also TRANSGRESS THE COMMANDMENT OF GOD BY YOUR TRADITION? 7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, 8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9 But IN VAIN THEY DO WORSHIP ME, TEACHING FOR DOCTRINES THE COMMANDMENTS OF MEN. (Mt 15:1-3,7-9) So, Paul, a Pharisee under the direct tutelage of Gamaliel, was well indoctrinated in the “tradition of the elders” …also referred to in the NT as the “tradition of men”, “commandments of men”, and “doctrines of men” …referred to today as the Oral Law. Note Messiah Yeshua’s words of condemnation to the scribes and Pharisees: 13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. 14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore YE SHALL RECEIVE THE GREATER DAMNATION. 15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land TO MAKE ONE PROSELYTE, and when he is made, YE MAKE HIM TWOFOLD MORE THE CHILD OF HELL THAN YOURSELVES. (Mt 23:13-15) Do you think Messiah was a little put out by the teachings of the scribes and Pharisees??? And Paul was party to these doctrines before his conversion experience on the road to Damascus!!! So, the contrast between legitimate Torah Law and Oral Law (commandments of men) is the subject of all of Galatians. Note the parallelism of dichotomy in the first chapter: 1 Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;) (Gal 1:1) Paul is NO LONGER an apostle or student of men or by man (Gamaliel / school of Hillel / Pharisee) but rather, of Yeshua HaMashiach / God by DIRECT INTERVENTION on the road to Damascus. 10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet (still) pleased men [following the doctrines and orders of the Pharisees], I should not be the servant of Christ. (Gal 1:10) If Messiah Yeshua hadn’t confronted him on the road to Damascus, he would still be a Pharisee, persecuting the believers. Now, verses 13 and 14 follow in context: 13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the JEWS’ RELIGION, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it: 14 And profited in the JEWS’ RELIGION above many my equals in mine own nation, BEING MORE EXCEEDINGLY ZEALOUS OF THE TRADITIONS OF MY FATHERS. (Gal 1:13,14) The JEWS’ RELIGION, then, incorporated the TRADITIONS OF MY FATHERS / Oral Law, that Yeshua previously condemned. Paul continues the account of his experiences after his dramatic Damascus encounter which left him almost blind. 15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, 16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; IMMEDIATELY I conferred not with flesh and blood: 17 Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I WENT INTO ARABIA, and returned again unto Damascus. (Gal 1:15-17) Why Arabia? What’s in Arabia? 25 For this Agar is MOUNT SINAI IN ARABIA, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. (Gal 4:25) We’ll unpack the whole meaning of this verse when you get to chapter 4. But for now, the important thing to note is that Paul went to Mount Sinai where Moses received the Law (Torah) to be DEPROGRAMMED of his Oral Law brainwashing. This is where I believe he had his “out-of-body” experience: 1 I must go on boasting. Though there is nothing to be gained by it, I will go on to visions and revelations of the Lord. 2 I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven-whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows. 3 And I know that this man was caught up into paradise-whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows- 4 and he heard things that cannot be told, which man may not utter. 5 On behalf of this man I will boast, but on my own behalf I will not boast, except of my weaknesses- 6 though if I should wish to boast, I would not be a fool, for I would be speaking the truth; but I refrain from it, so that no one may think more of me than he sees in me or hears from me. (2 Cor 12:1-6, ESV) So, if Moses received the Law at Mount Sinai, what do you suppose Paul received? … THE LAW…without the embellishment of the “commandments of men”. 6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto ANOTHER GOSPEL: 7 WHICH IS NOT ANOTHER; but there be some that trouble you, and would PEVERT the gospel of Christ. (Gal 1:6,7) So, what is ANOTHER GOSPEL WHICH IS NOT ANOTHER? As you rightly point out, the period between AD 30 and AD 70 was a time of great trial and testing to figure out the truth in light of the grafting of gentiles into true Israel. With regard to the Oral Law, the Jews were just as confused as gentiles. There were many, many Jews who sincerely believed in Messiah Yeshua but, just like the “old” Paul, were brainwashed into following the “commandments of men”. Not having been “deprogrammed”, they insisted that newbie gentile believers had to follow the Law as they understood it …that is, as defined by the Pharisees. These “Judaizers” are the same as those of Acts 15:5: 5 But there rose up certain of the SECT OF THE PHARISEES WHICH BELIEVED, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses (AS DEFINED BY THE PHARISEES). (Acts 15:5) (NOTE: They are being COMPELLED to become circumcised) Any other understanding is out of context. Shalom

I do understand the limitations of having to teach concepts in short bursts...and it is good to examine letters one by one...there can be some awesome revelation in that...midrashing on Galatians which has the most important message that should be shouted from the rooftops - Grace Alone by Faith-- can't add a single thing to that without corrupting the Gospel should be drilled in over and over again...and guarded carefully ----- --- Yet The beauty of the Spirit --He will not lead us to lie, commit adultery, or covet etc. (the works of the flesh leads to death) -but He will yield in us fruit of abundant living...walking in the law of love... for faith without deeds is dead- Genesis 26:5 |James 2:24-26 in front of others| Hebrews 6:1 ---Scripture is more symphonic --- not so much a one man band---fruit is alive!

Modern Judaizers seem to think that because they aren't demanding the same things as those of Paul's day, that they are not therefore in the wrong, and yet we hear not one word from the early Church of teachings about any requirement for keeping Kosher, Sabbath and the festival observances, as if the novelty somehow legitimizes them moreso than the ancient Judaizers.

Some very harsh truthes in that book that are being omitted in the corporate church in california, of course, a list of other books and sections from the bible that are also omitted because of how harsh they seem to the moden CA mind

Paul's addressing the Pharisees who rejected Messiah instead they believed they were saved by Moses and the Torah, Even though they honored their OWN Commandments ABOVE Fathers Commandments . knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified. Keeping God's commandments, or at least, trying to keep His commandments has nothing to do with eternal salvation. Ephesians 2:8 refers to the salvation of the true believers afterlife. It has nothing to do with how we walk out our faith in Christ on this earth. Likewise, obedience to God and his Torah have nothing to do with justification or eternal salvation. Obediance does, however, have everything to with, loving God and being Holy. Obedience to the Father is also the evidence of our justification. Obediance is also the hope of a good, fullfilling life on earth. Jesus said: “And I know his commands lead to eternal life; so I say whatever the Father tells me to say.” John 12:50 NLT What good is it, my brothers, if someone claims to have faith but has no actions to prove it? Is such “faith” able to save him?..... Thus, faith by itself, unaccompanied by actions, is dead. But, foolish fellow, do you want to be shown that such “faith” apart from actions is barren?...... You see that his (Abraham) faith worked with his actions; by the actions the faith was made complete; You see that a person is declared righteous because of actions and not because of faith alone. Indeed, just as the body without a spirit is dead, so too faith without actions is dead. James 2:14‭, ‬17‭, ‬20‭, ‬22‭, ‬24‭, ‬26 CJB “This means that God’s holy people must endure persecution patiently, obeying his commands and maintaining their faith in Jesus. Rev 14:12 NTL “For the mind-set of the flesh is hostile to God because it does not submit itself to God’s law, for it is unable to do so.” Romans 8:7 HCSB "Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith. Examine yourselves. Or do you yourselves not recognize that Jesus Christ is in you? - unless you fail the test." 2 Corinthians 13:5 HCSB “Blessed are those who do his commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city. Revelation 22:14 WMBB “And I know his commands lead to eternal life; so I say whatever the Father tells me to say.” John 12:50 NLT

Paul was against the people who wanted him circumcised, not against people who kept the Mosaic Laws, and he may have been against those who wanted him to be circumcised because they would circumcise and keep none of the rest of the law, assuming circumcision would save them, which is incorrect because works alone can save none. 26:50

Adopted & grafted into Israel / Becoming one with Spiritual Israel ‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ For the LORD will have compassion on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land. The foreigner will join himself with them, and they will unite with the house of Jacob. Isaiah 14:1 WMBBE “I will also bless the foreigners who commit themselves to the Lord, who serve him and love his name, who worship him and do not desecrate the Sabbath day of rest, and who hold fast to my covenant. I will bring them to my holy mountain of Jerusalem and will fill them with joy in my house of prayer. I will accept their burnt offerings and sacrifices, because my Temple will be called a house of prayer for all nations. For the Sovereign Lord, who brings back the outcasts of Israel, says: I will bring others, too, besides my people Israel.” Isaiah 56:6‭-‬8 NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ “So we must listen very carefully to the truth (Torah) we have heard, or we may drift away from it. For the message God delivered through angels has always stood firm, and every violation of the law and every act of disobedience was punished. So what makes us think we can escape if we ignore this great salvation that was first announced by the Lord Jesus himself and then delivered to us by those who heard him speak?” Hebrews 2:1‭-‬3 NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ You shall have one standard of law for the stranger among you as well as for the native, for I am the Lord your God.’ ” Leviticus 24:22 AMP “Give the people of Israel these instructions, (The proceeding Torah) which apply both to native Israelites and to the foreigners living in Israel. “If any of them offer their children as a sacrifice to Molech, they must be put to death. The people of the community must stone them to death. Leviticus 20:2 NLT The same law will apply to both the native and the foreigner who resides among you.” Exodus 12:49 HCSB You are to have the same law for the person who acts in error, whether he is an Israelite or a foreigner who lives among you. Numbers 15:29 HCSB “If you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise” (Galatians 3:29). “If some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree” (Romans 11:17). Therefore, remember your former state: you Gentiles by birth….. at that time had no Messiah. You were estranged from the national life of Isra’el. You were foreigners to the covenants embodying God’s promise. (But now you are not strangers to the covenants) You were in this world without hope and without God. But now, you who were once far off have been brought near through the shedding of the Messiah’s blood. For he himself is our shalom (peace) - he has made us both one and has broken down the m’chitzah (dividing wall) which divided us by destroying in his own body the enmity (curse or punishment) occasioned by the Torah, with its commands set forth in the form of ordinances. He did this in order to create in union with himself from the two groups a single new humanity and thus make shalom, and in order to reconcile to God both in a single body by being executed on a stake as a criminal and thus in himself killing that enmity. Also, when he came, he announced as Good News shalom to you far off and shalom to those nearby, news that through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. So then, you are no longer foreigners and strangers. On the contrary, you are fellow-citizens with God’s people and members of God’s family. You have been built on the foundation of the emissaries and the prophets, with the cornerstone being Yeshua the Messiah himself. In union with him the whole building is held together, and it is growing into a holy temple in union with the Lord. Yes, in union with him, you yourselves are being built together into a spiritual dwelling-place for God! Ephesians (Eph) 2:11‭-‬22 CJB‬‬‬‬‬‬

Hi, BillyJack! I'm not quite following your question. The passages you cited do not speak of the new covenant. Gen. 15 and Gal. 3:7-9 speak of the Abrahamic Covenant, which Jesus fulfilled. God "announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: 'All nations will be blessed through you.'” He didn't announce the _new covenant_ in advance to Abraham. Rom. 4:2-3 speaks of Abraham being counted righteous because of his faith. RLS

Where people get hung up is, You have to understand justification, Sanctification and glorification. Simply put, Once you commit one Sin It’s only the blood of Christ, which is applied by faith, And administer by the Holy Ghost that one can be justified, .period. It’s through the adoption of the Holy Ghost, That one is a new creature, and their heart is regenerated To love the things of Christ. Christ is the word of God, And you will begin to love the word of God, And as a new creature walk In the commandments and statutes of God, Which is confirmed by the Holy Ghost that now dwells in you. Simply put, The Holy Ghost, which is the spirit of God Is moral, Thereby When you don’t abide morally as a new creature in Christ, the Holy Ghost will reprove you And lead you Into repentance In Christ. Here we know, we know him if we keep his commandments. So a born again, Christian Will know and love The New Testament Commandments of God. Most of them are moral And follow after the Old Testament. Christ is the fulfillment of all the Old Testament rituals, As they were only a shadow of the true sacrifice of God, which is Jesus Christ. That is why those Old Testament Types and shadows are done away with.

The church leaders in Paul’s day were all in synagogues where “Moses was taught every Sabbath.” I doubt that they taught that Moses was no longer valid. As for Gentile believers having to be circumcised - Paul (as well as the Old Testament ) taught that true circumcision is of the heart and, yes, that circumcision IS necessary for Gentiles. The slavery Paul speaks of was no doubt the intolerable “laws of men” that Jesus rebuked the Pharisees about, not God’s law. Even in Revelation we find that those who enter in are those who “keep the commandments of God and have the faith of Jesus.” So I think you are reading Galatians just the way the catholic interpreters wanted you to. Or as Peter would say, the “words of our brother Paul have been twisted.” At the very end of his life Paul testified that he had NEVER taught anything contrary to the Torah. If you interpret Galatians to oppose Torah, you are calling Paul a liar.

Hi, Bobby! The problem with that theory is that it is not supported anywhere in the Bible. We don't see Gentiles entering the synagogue to learn the law, and nowhere in the NT does it tell us that Gentile followers of Jesus ever did (or should) learn the law or begin living by it. In fact, in the early church, Gentile believers in Jesus weren't welcome in the synagogues. History shows us that believers in Jesus were pushed out of the synagogues by the Jewish rabbis. They instituted _Birkat HaMinim,_ a benediction against heretics that made even Jewish believers in Jesus so uncomfortable they stopped attending. (P.S. I do not teach that "Moses is no longer valid.") (P.P.S. I am not Catholic) Shalom, Rob

@@TheBiblicalRoots I wish we were nearby in order to have a few face to face conversations. I really think you are misreading scripture. But to your point: Acts 14:2 tells about Gentiles in a synagogue. Where else would they hear Paul? In 1 Corinthians 5:7-8 Paul exhorts Gentiles to observe Passover. In Acts 18:4 Paul deals with Jews and Greeks in the synagogue. Acts 15:19-21 lists only 4 things Gentiles must do in order to attend synagogue, and the oft neglected verse 21 tells why they would attend synagogue. (But if you believe those 4 things are all that God requires of Gentile believers, then it’s ok if they murder, rape, commit adultery, etc., because they are Gentiles. But those 4 are only for “table fellowship” as there is still much to learn as they study Moses in the synagogue.) And there’s much more, but the Catholics twisted scripture by first translating it into Greek, then they had bonfires to burn all Hebrew Scriptures, and they turned to the Roman gods, inserting them into their worship. They required Jewish converts to Catholicism to eat pig meat. They decreed the death penalty for circumcision of newborns. They decreed the death penalty for Sabbath observance, and more. And when the Protestant revolution occurred, the took many of the false teachings and Jew-hating with them. Messianic believers need to start over with Matthew (it exists in the original Hebrew, in spite of all the burnings) and study the real context of the scriptures, not the retro-context that is read into scripture today.

@@henryhodgens4312 Thank you! I don’t get many positive comments on my posts, so I really appreciate it. I feel sorry for Rob because he seems to be a really great person. I hate to see Satan leading him into the same errors that have plagued Christianity for so long now. I was just reading over the Westminster Confession from 1646 and was surprised to see the “Sunday error” cited as the reason Sunday is regarded as the “Christian Sabbath”. I don’t know what to call that - it’s not an oxymoron, but calling the first day of the week the seventh day is certainly wrong. Acts 20:7 is cited in the Westminster Confession to support Sunday worship. But the Greek text says “ on one of the Sabbaths”, referring clearly to one of the seven Sabbaths between either Passover and Pentecost or First Fruits and Pentecost (Shavuot, the feast of weeks.) The passage is clearly referring to the period immediately following Passover, or Unleavened Bread, and has nothing at all to do with Sunday! But Rob will argue fervently for the erroneous translation. The web site john1415.org has a treasure trove of just pure Bible study that reveals many such errors. I used to argue for errors just as fervently as Rob, but when I hear an opposing position with scripture after scripture backing it up, I rethink what I’ve been taught.

@@Bobbychildree Yes, I agree completely. I really like Rob. But, if your premise is in error (the law has been abrogated with the "New" Covenant), then you will view all of Scripture through that lens and you will jump through hoops to maintain that foundation at all costs...even to the extent of redefining terms to preserve your premise. Very interesting...the very thing that piqued my curiosity about studying Scripture from a Hebrew perspective was Mt 28:1. I had just received my Strong's Exhaustive Concordance and Green's Hebrew Greek English Interlinear Bible and decided to read that verse in the Interlinear. To my amazement, that edition stated: "After the Sabbaths, at the dawning into the first of the Sabbaths, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the grave." This started a long search to figure out how to integrate the literal translation of the Greek back into the Hebrew of Lev 23 for First Fruits. So, I've been down the sabbaton / shabbat study at length including Acts 20:7. But, I'm still missing something to make sense of the crucifixion / burial / resurrection sequence trying to piece OT and NT together. I find myself wondering what sources were available to the Masoretes? ...and did they choose manuscripts that obfuscated the OT connection to Messiah Yeshua since NT quotes of the OT more closely resemble the Greek Septuagint? So, these questions keep me busy....inquiring minds ;^) Shalom

Christ said to keep the commandments. When asked which was the greatest commandment, He quoted two commandments of Moses, neither of which was in the Ten Commandments. Are you saying that Paul contradicted Christ and taught others to break the commandments of God? The New Testament had not even been written when Paul wrote Galatians. In his final words just before being put to death, Paul himself testified that he had never violated or taught others to violate the Torah, and not even the rabbinic teachings that were not based on the Law. I think a good word study of teleo and telos would be in order. Christ was never the END of the Law for righteousness - He was the GOAL of the Law for righteousness. NO person was ever made righteous by the deeds of the Law. Righteousness has always come by FAITH, right from the beginning. Scripture says the Law was added because of sin. I guess Christians don’t sin, so no need for Torah anymore?

Hi Harry. "The Jewish concept of an "oral law" wasn’t even developed until long after Christ. It arose because the rabbis needed to find a way to work out Judaism without a temple. The terms “oral law” and “rabbis” are completely absent from the Tanakh. In fact, the Talmud itself admits that Moses did not recognize the teaching of the Oral Law, when he allegedly heard Rabbi Akiva say at his yeshiva that the Oral Law he was teaching came straight from Moses himself, at Sinai. There is not even a hint of the Oral Law rulings in the Written Law. There is no scriptural record of any biblical figure practicing the rules of the Oral Law (not even putting on the phylacteries, which is considered by the rabbis to be one of the most important commandments of the Oral Law). The Oral Law has many quotations from the Bible, but the Bible never quotes the Mishnah or any other rabbinic literature. This proves that the Oral Law came into existence much later than the Written Law and was not given on Sinai, as the rabbis claim. In fact, many of the Oral Law rulings, customs, and traditions contradict the Bible" -Eitan Bar RLS

@@TheBiblicalRoots you can call it the oral law, rabbinical law whatever want , Paul was well versed in both. When he held the rabbinical law above the Mosaic Law he was persecuting believers. The scriptures never quote the oral law because it is not of God it originated from man. This is what the Judaizers held in such high esteem.. They saw no need for a Saviour because their righteousness came from their man made law. This is why Paul repeats over and over again in Galatians 1 that he is not about pleasing men or seeking the favour of men. Paul understood the Law and the Prophets and that is why he knew Yehoshua was the promised Messiah. Ceremonial hand washing and ceremonial jars like in feast at Cana were all part of halaka and had nothing to do with the Mosaic Law. 1 Peter 1 says the Galatians were the of the lost tribes of the dispersion. Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To those 👉who are elect exiles of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, 👈Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood: May grace and peace be multiplied to you.

@@salpezzino7803 that’s not adding to the word. He’s merely defining scripture with scripture. The Bible defines sin as transgression of the law, or lawlessness depending on your flavour of translation, so I’m not sure what the issue is there? Unless you disagree with that definition. Anyway, have a good weekend. Peace

Rob, 3 But neither Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was COMPELLED to be circumcised: 4 And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our LIBERTY which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: 5 To whom we gave place by SUBJECTION, no, not for an hour; that the TRUTH OF THE GOSPEL might continue with you. (Gal 2:3-5) I think you would agree…in fact I believe I heard you say in a previous video…that it’s extremely difficult to prove a negative. But that’s what you’re trying to do by insisting that Titus was NOT circumcised. The Scripture does NOT say that he was NOT circumcised. Is says he was NOT COMPELLED to be circumcised. He CONSENTED just like Timotheus in Acts 16, so Paul brought him to Jerusalem as a witness of a Gentile convert to the God of Israel, led by the Spirit to follow Torah. Remember, this is the same Paul who stated: 18 Is any man called being circumcised? let him not become uncircumcised. Is any called in uncircumcision? let him not be circumcised. 19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God. (1 Cor 7:18,19) That is: 18 Is any man being called out of Judaism? let him not become as the pagans. Is any being called out of paganism? let him not be subsumed into Judaism. 19 Your ethnicity and religious heritage are nothing, but the KEEPING OF THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD (WHICH INCLUDES CIRCUMCISION). (1 Cor 7:18,19 Rewrite) The issue here, then, is the LIBERTY to follow in obedience to Torah (not Oral Law) AS THE SPIRIT MOVES YOU TO OBEY…not like the regimented instruction of the religious schools of the time (Shammai / Hillel) that required adherence to a schedule similar to the attaining of a degree today. You completed your study in an allotted time, whereupon, you were circumcised and immersed (mikvah-ed) as a matter of convenience and conferred with the degree of “Israelite” or “saved”. Circumcision, then, became the seal or symbol of adherence to a particular school with its characteristic philosophy and set of oral traditions (Oral Law) that often conflicted with Torah. Note the definition of LIBERTY: liberty: A particular right, franchise, or EXEMPTION FROM COMPULSION. (Webster’s New World Dictionary) The TRUTH OF THE GOSPEL, then, is that believers are moved by the Spirit of God to obey Torah when they believe / have FAITH in Messiah Yeshua (Jer 31:33, Heb 8:10) …not by SUBJECTION to the authorities in Jerusalem. The Judaizers were those who had placed themselves between God and the people as gate keepers into the Kingdom of God. Shalom
