Disappointed with curved edge. Long time note user here and it's the worst feature. Screen protectors are a pain in the a with curved edges

Fantastic video! Thank you. I'm glad the s22 ultra beats the s21 ultra in several scenarios (and will probably be even better with software updates), but I'm even more glad that the difference isn't that great to justify the upgrade. I'll stick with my s21 ultra until 2023 😁

Danny please include raw photography in future! It would be nice to know how good the raw files of the phones are since raw on phones also undergoes some processing.

Thank you so much for this review, Danny! Is there any chance you could do some comparisons on faster moving targets? For example, if someone was waving or spinning around. I ask this because in large family photos, someone's always moving and a slow shutter speed/processing ends up with someone in the frame looking blurry. Thanks in advance!

Super comparison. Many, many thanks! This is exactly what I was looking for as an S21 Ultra owner. And I see my assumption confirmed: The S21 Ultra is so good in the photo area that the air for a big step is very, very thin. In many photos, I like the result of the S21 U better than the S22 U. But I see one thing above all: software. The full performace of the S22 U will be reached at the end of next year, when the successor is in the starting blocks. Just like with the S21 U.

@@manmathgodre5360 Danny Winget compares the S21U to the S22U. I think that makes it very clear how well developed the S21U is compared to its successor. And that Samsung still has to optimize some of the software on the S22U. They will certainly do that successfully and I believe that the S21U will also benefit from it again.

Thank you Danny for this amazing review. I am very pleased to see that Samsung has finally, finally listened and reduced the typical over-sharpening and over-brightening. All past Samsung flagships did both to every photo regardless of lighting situation. Finally the textures that I saw particularly in the painting of the Minnie mouse, was dramatically better than the S21U which had almost smeared away the details in its super soft processing. The natural detail preservation is super impressive and a huge step up from the last gen. The added contrast is something I hugely prefer as it gives the photos a more natural look.

Fantastic comparison! Samsung has improved my second biggest gripe with the S21 Ultra: the portrait mode softness. I wonder if there's any chance of them bringing this to the S21 Ultra with a software update... Now, can the S22 Ultra take night mode portraits with the 3X optical zoom camera? The S21 Ultra can't, which makes low light portraits look terrible unless you use the wide camera which is not at all ideal for portraits. Thanks a lot for this comparison, can't wait for the next ones 🙌

With no grading or just straight out of the camera? RAW is tough to do unless you want me to put the same grade on it.

@@dannywinget Ya, the same grade should be fine. Still, that's your call. It's just that the samples I've seen (lossless jpeg) using the Expert Raw app for S21 Ultra have been very impressive and I'm curious to see how well does the S22 Ultra perform using that app. It would be really interesting to see how far can you push the grade with the 16-bit RAW samples but it's okay if you don't include the color grading aspect as that's not what most people use. Thanks for replying and looking forward to the future camera comparisons. Hopefully, I should be able to get my S22 Ultra by then.

I can't wait to get my S22 Ultra!! I pre-ordered the Samsung Exclusive Red 1TB. I am currently using the Note 10+ since it came out. 2.5 years later and it is still working great. I am still excited about getting the new phone. Awesome video!! I love what you did here. Thank you :)

i like the new processing soo much, finally they added more contrast i always hated the bright lifted shadows look on my samsungs that was my biggest complaint on their cameras.

The S21 Ultra is still excellent, however, the S22 Ultra has had improvements where the S21 was not as good as the night videos. Good job Samsung!

and things will get better since s22ultra's firmware is pre-production version while s21u had a year of updates till now.

If you take a ton of low light/night pics the s22 ultra is great but honestly the s21 ultra looks better in almost every other instance. Also, software improvements will only make the s21 ultra better. Same goes for the s22 ultra but for the price if you already have the s21 ultra you're better off

@@bridgesmob6761 hey James I got a question how do you make your pictures more realistic and not with the saturation contrast I've been having trouble trying to have the pictures become more unique is there any helpful tips for that I've been having trouble with that part and taking videos at night and pictures I'm really having a difficult time trying to get pictures at night plus its a real hassle for me to take professional pictures I'm a photographer as well is there a way to make my photography look more beautiful and really detailed

!! I like the s21u actually , brighter more natural and less processed !! and I don't zoom in 1000x man to peak for differences ,, .... Even samsung can't beat it's own S21u a year later ! i hope they don't DOWNGRADE it with future updates to make their new phones better !!!

Nice comparison. In addition to the difference you mentioned, I'm curious why colors are so different between the two devices. For example, the color of the moon: 16:07 is quite different.

Excellent video Danny 😎 When it comes to night mode shots I generally prefer the darker ones, I prefer having it look like it’s nighttime not daylight. That said your idea have having an option in settings to choose between lighter or darker shots would be great, sometimes the brighter night mode looks better

I didn't know that there was that many differences with the camera! Thank you for the comparison it was very informative. One thing that does bother me about the new phone is the loudspeaker quality. It is significantly worse than the S21 which sounds way more punchier.

I am happy with my S21 ultra. I don't believe it is worth paying for s22 ultra for it is expensive. My s21 ultra is ideal

Great work Danny this helped a lot. RAW visdo formats in at least promode?? I have a note 10+ which I use for projects. SD cards aren't ideal anymore so I want more space but most importantly video is very important especially if there is a raw video format. So happy to see its less grainy! I seriously wish there was a way to compare it to my note 10+

No RAW video but you can always shoot with Filmic Pro to get the highest Quality Codec

Well S22U is definitely better but very slightly of course. Obviously there wouldn't be a huge difference from now on. Especially within a year distance.

Danny ! Bro ! You always rock.. one quick one - The Infamous SHUTTER LAG?? Does it still exist ? Because that hasn’t been seen on an IPhone or a Google Pixel or a Sony Phone.. makes us miss some of the best moments as well.
