When Rogue first kissed Gambit, she drained him and put him in a coma. His powers didn't do anything. The Reason rogue can now touch Gambit, or anyone else she wants, is because her inability was psychological the entire time and she has been gaining control over it. Rogues ability is triggered by stress. It works in combat because combat is always stressful, but there is more to it than that. Cody was her first kiss. She was nervous and stressed about it, so her power first triggered. She associate the ability with touch, so touching people would cause her to stress, which would triggers her power, reaffirming that she couldn't touch people, in a self-perpetuating cycle. This is also why people would some times touch her, but the effect only kicked in after she realized they were doing it. 1- Tough Rogue. 2- Rouge screams something like "NOOOOO!" 3- Power triggers. 4- Person passes out. Xavier helped her with the mental issue and that is why she can now touch people, as long as she doesn't get stressed.

Hey there. Worlds biggest Gambit fan here. Great video but to finish it up, he and Rogue can now touch. Not from anything Gambit can do but because professor X finally discovered how Rogue can control her absorption powers. Rogue can actually touch several x men without injuring them and temporarily use them simultaneously.

His first memory was at 2 years old, he was tied to a post and a crocodile was tied up 1 foot away, so it was either escape or get eaten. It's the initiation into the thieves guild btw.

Remy (Gambit) Lebeau has always been one of my favorite mutants but last time I checked Rogue couldn't touch anyone especially Gambit it's too bad we never got to see him in live action especially with Rogue. I'm aware of the "Wolverine" Gambit with Taylor Kitsch but he doesn't really count they didn't do much with him.

It's a real shame that Gambit has become such an afterthought over the years in the comics as well as media, prolly 2nd most popular mutant/X-Men behind Wolverine but gets thrown to the wayside by the writers unless Rogue is involved in his story. What has annoyed me about him n Rogue over the years is that the writers will put Rogue in other stories without Gambit and play a big role in said story but Gambit has to have Rogue in his stories in order for him to get any screen time, hopefully he plays a big role in the Fall of X storyline along with Apocalypse but not holding my breath, especially with the writers of today 🤦‍♂️

Gambit did have his full powers restored when he fought against New Son, his alternate version. He didn't need to touch anything to convert a object's energy and want limited to inorganic objects. Theoretically, his powers are opposite to Bobby's. Bobby aka Iceman removes heat energy from particles down to subatomic, which is the real definition of freezing. At its peak, all motion stops or stopping time. Gambit causes particles to move possibly by adding energy, which changes the resting state aka potential energy to active - kinetic energy. At its max, explosion if the bonds break or keeping the atomic bonds together and accelerate through time. He is very much Omega Level.

Gambit is criminally underrated. Fun fact: Mr Sinister said he's more mutant than mutant.

People don't realize how powerful his full power form is. Is alternate universe Gambit beat the Phoenix then main Gambit who got his full powers back beat him. He has enhanced speed , strength and agility and because of his powers never gets tired. Essentially like Wonder man continuous kinetic and potential energy so he doesn't get old and can heal. Has concussive blasts. Can charge anything by just looking and how powerful the blast is also can stop and control people and things like a form of telekinesis also flying. His powers because of his constant energy makes him immune to touch based powers and telepathy even from those as powerful as jean, professor x or emma. They can't get into his head at all. Full powered Gambit is definitely omega level.

Since I'm a big fan of both of them, I've thought about this for a while. :D Rogue absorbs on the psionic level. Her powers would have to be controlled or lowered enough to touch him and not pull him in. Remember the 'Reunion' episode on the X-Men 90's cartoon? Sinister cut their powers off and Gambit was able to kiss Rogue? Ta Dah! Or... another way to do it, I remember reading in a comic a long time ago that Jean couldn't read Gambit. Now how could that be? She was the Phoenix after all. Gambit has a hidden power where he can mentally dampen like a telepath. Marvel never explored that. :o So therefore, if that power is brought out and trained, he could block Rogue. Which I think is far more interesting because I don't know how things are now because I haven't collected in quite a while; but back when I was collecting, only Women had telepathy. :o ;) :) PS: For CRYING OUT LOUD!
