rumblefish90 I just find that a lot of the hate Arin has towards Majora is really forced. He finds a reason to hate the game even if it isn't the games fault (Dampy). It makes for some funny moments but I see where you're coming from.

I hope the guy who did the Ocarina one does one on this series too. That video was both cathartic and even showed off how Ocarina is more smartly designed than I thought, and how Arin did everything to misinterpret said design.

The main problem stems from the fact that he plays the games like one would play link to the past. He wants to flail at everything and just hope for progress. The game is more methodical in its combat, even if the puzzles are less so. And the combat often incorporates puzzles which confuse and anger Arin rather than him taking the time to try to figure it out. The truth is, because he is so biased against the games he doesn't bother trying to enjoy them. He just tries to face roll them for the audiences sake because we asked him to play them. Then gets pissy when he isnt doing well or when people are critical. Love arin, I relate to him a lot, but his bias against the 64 era games is a bit too apparent in these.

I like the idea of Dan playing Skyward Sword and genuinely enjoying it while Arin tries to force his hatred of it down his throat.

to be honest, i didnt even dislike this series because arin was bad at the game (shit, arin was bad at ocarina but that has some of my favorite GG moments ever), i more disliked it because neither of them seemed to be having fun. arin was always complaining about the game and in alot of parts dan just seemed bored. with black knight and unleashed (just to use the ones you brought up), there were moments of rage, but they at least found something to have fun with soon after. like werehog Sonic's over-the-top death scream

it doesn't make it official lol, I have no INSIDE KNOWLEDGE it just looks extremely likely that it's at least going on hiatus I think they will return to it eventually just due to the fact they're so close to the end but the fact this series has got so much negative feedback they'll have to leave it for a while for Arin to chill and some goodwill to come back

Logan Fortune it's actually the opposite in a sense. He hates hand holdy games, and hence unfortunately skips the tutorials. Plus, he's not wrong. These games were great for their time, but going back to this garbage after playing BOTW is unbelievably unsettling.

Well like... the thing is its not really the gameplay thats infuriating. When arin sucks at a game its fine, funny even (when he's good its even better). But the thing is that theres tons of moments where the game tells you what to do, but Arin ignores it and then proceeds to get pissed off and blame the game for not being easy enough or overtly obvious. Arin getting pissed at a game (like battle kid) is fine, so long as Arin is ok. The difference here though is that he's NOT enjoying himself and he blames the game entirely for his own incompetence. Not only does it make the gameplay hard to watch, but it also completely derails any commentary they've had and it sours the mood. the chats between arin and danny, the puzzle-solving, discussion about the game mechanics, and immerse of the story and story elements ALL take a hit once Arin gets tilted. And he tilts very easily. tldr; Arin being bad at games is fine and fun, Arin bashing a game for not holding his hand enough gets pretty grating.

The commentary was awful. Arin sounds comatose for about half the series, and the rest of the time he's either bitching about the game or no one is saying anything of note. The only funny bit that came of the whole thing was the Old 45s thing.

Am I the only one who legit can’t get into BOTW? Like I got it and I’m so not into it, I maybe played it for like 5 hours and never touched it again. I love OOT (it’s my favorite game) and I couldn’t get into Majora’s Mask either (I think I got to Snowfall with a walkthrough in the 3D one then I got frustrated with falling off the lege with Goron Link and dropped it). I love Link’s Awakening and Link Between Worlds, the Oracle games, etc. just can’t get into BOTW at all.
