One piece of gameplay I think Days Gone needs *If it's not in it already* is the ability to drop grenade/molotovs/traps behind you as you run. Having to turn and aim seems cumbersome and awkward when being chased by 100+ zombies.

The framerate drops quite a bit when you encounter these hordes but I'm sure they will improve significantly before launch.

This is a very alpha gameplay and already performs better than a release state of decay 2. like seriously EDITED: some of the people are so sensitive that they immediately turn their fanboy walls up and fails to understand the point. STOP RELEASING GAME THAT FEELS LIKE EARLY ACCESS! SoD2 only being AA and Days Gone AAA, no that's not an excuse many indie games feels and play more polished than SoD2 so what's their excuse. They really need to implement an 'outlast' style rear view perspective whilst being chased to increase the tension,otherwise the player/audience misses the spectacle of the hordes.

Several things I would change/improve: - more realistic physics An exploding barrel creates a shockwave, that would throw everything on the ground in a certain readius, the way this here works is they start to burn/die. Also, not just the enemy should be affected but also the player and your company if you ever have one. - more realistic stamina depletion The more stuff you carry, the faster you are exhausted. That would improve or might improve playstyle/choice of tactics or other things. Like for this example, having lighter weapons like the normal handgun and explosives might give you the best chances of running away. On the other hand, choosing to fight these with a heavy weapon, you have to be certain of what you do and your aim or rather kills per second must be close to flawless because otherwise you'll just get smashed. That big gun he is carrying, you could make it possible, via skills or tolls, to attach it to something, make it a stationary gun. I mean you see such big guns on humvees. - supply chests The problem with the decision making for "what do I take with me during the fight?" could be eliminated with a way of hiding your equippment that you don't need just now, for this fight, for the upcoming situation. You see a horde of zombies, you decide to leave your heavy weapon at some safe-spot which you can just go back to and take with you once you have completed whatever you wanted to do. Again, this would improve decision making when it comes to tactical approach. Also, this would leave you to whatever decision you made, even if you realize in the middle of the event that you probably die and that the decision was bad after all. - more realistic gunplay Where is the recoil? Considering my previous point, the stationary heavy machine gun, shooting and aiming with that gun could be a hard thing to do, fighting a horde like this and being under such a hurry/stress. This could make the stationary heavy machine gun a good feature/option because that way your recoil would be decreased down to a minimum. - crafting You talk about immersion. But if you try to max. that out, like with the "+ ?? xp" popping up, then you should add more realism to the game overall. Not just the points I already mentioned but also stuff like crafting. Because here, you press a button to craft and you instantly get the items. There should at least be some time that you need to craft or/and an animation. If you run around shooting freakers and at some point you think "oh I could use a molotov right now", but you don't have one, then you don't just press a button and it magically appears. Adding an animation or time would hinder you from spamming it. And it would allow more tactical gameplay as well. That way, you'd have to think about how you wanna approach them, making a decision like "How many grenades will I need? I guess all of them, 'crafts 3 grenades and 3 molotov'" and that's it. Regarding all my points, the game probably just doesn't want to be realistic or immersive and I could probably accept that. I mean it is an alpha still, so there could be alot more realism added to this. I would appreciate it. Maybe some points are just now shown in this gameplay footage, I don't know what else the planned I've just seen like 3 gameplay videos, not enough to judge.

The running animations look funny

I really hope that this game is running smooth by release because It could be really fun from what I've seen. That, coupled with the main character being played by Sam Witwer (Star Wars Force Unleashed, Being Human TV series, other Star Wars) and hopefully a good, coherent story will make a great game...

It is very sad and depressing that there is so many badd reviews. For this game before its release date. It just seems like all the reviews are negative The highest score I seen for this game is a 6 out of 10. It's a shame that some of these reviewers do not know how to play the game at all. And get pist off when they don't know what they're doing. That's why there are so many review bombs on the game. I advise everybody to judge the game When you get your hands on. Instead of listening to the reviews that are out.

Being able to melee attack in stride as you run/sprint seems like it should be something very important they put in. Also being able to shoot without slowing down and aiming. Being able to shoot behind you as you run forward or perform a quick turn and backpeddle as you unload.

These guys will surpass IGN some day....

Cant wait for it! I remember seeing (in another video a while back) drift and boost mechanics for the motorcycles, as an avid biker and survival/apocalyptic game fanatic, I hope they drop that, it takes away from the gritty atmosphere.
