Aprath the zombies are more powerful when at night keep in mind this is alpha gameplay and not full release and the people talking make it a lot less scary usually u play alone so that could be part of it

@@ungamiko Nothing to worry about. Sony is skipping e3 this year so my guess is they announce the console in 2020/2021. At that point it will still be another yearish before its released. Then it's best to wait a few months anyways because console launches are always bad. Wait even longer if you'd like until some games drop on the ps5.

Panzer Meyer in what way? Graphically sure, thats obvious. But the gameplay of the two games are way different. They are going for completely different things. This looks to be more of a last of us type game while SOD is about managing a community also SOD is not a AAA game. Wasn't made with that kind of budget, so i don't think comparing the two is that fair but thats just me... regardless i am very much looking forward to boht of these games and very excited to get my hands on boht of them.

Couldn't agree more. Ubisoft's "take over this and that camp" or capture this vantage point, all make me want to punch my keyboard. It not only induces the OCD part of me to want to capture all those points, but it makes me realize that I wasted all that time because Ubisoft is testing my psychological processes.

the thing is casual gamers don't even know what an options menu even is, let alone use it. if you're a console game dev and you're working on a (supposedly) immersive adventure, you want the default settings to be set accordingly with no user intervention.

If you think about it the casual gamer is probably the gamer that will most likely want to see the XP showing cause a lot of the so called casuals play online shooters that often show xp on kills. It doesn't bother me at all in fact I can see a benefit to it like they mentioned if you're having a shoot out with a human at a distance and seeing the xp pop you know he's dead and can move on. I can imagine a large explosion in a group of zombies will be pretty satisfying seeing all the xp show. I don't know if you played Dying Light, but initially when you're leveling up you get numbers pop up at the top of the screen like when you set a group on fire. Once you reach legend levels you stop getting the xp numbers show up and it's not nearly as satisfying leveling up as it is earlier in the game. I get not everyone likes it, but I think a lot of people should wait til they try it to see if they actually like it. I remember when God of War was first shown people hated the health bars above all the enemies.

Days Gone seems much more detailed than anyother open world zombie game. So still cool with new ideas and high level quality graphics, like naughty dog level...Gore and brutal tps gameplay, zombie chldren's...and a fucking awesome bike. I agree. There is nothing wrong with the game, but there is nothing to get excited about either. That to me means it'll get put on my backlog list, and I'll pick it up six months to a year later when I find a good sale for it. I honestly don't get how a developer who could make any game they wanted, decided a UbiSoft open world 3rd person shooter was the best creative idea they could come up with. Yes, I know there are some differences, but just look at the vast majority of this gameplay. It's standard 3rd person shooter stuff. It seems like all the design decisions leaned towards the most subdued and small scale option. The horde would be a great hook, but unfortunately it is something the player will actively avoid for most of the game, so it won't be a part of the normal gameplay experience.

Haven Chu I see what you’re saying. I was a bit hype for this as well, and I understand its alpha that can improve, but the game so far can be disappointing with the melee combat being subpar and the sound isn’t that great either. My anticipation went down some but I’ll keep an eye on it.

I feel it is a good PR move as the game looks very playable already right now and knowing it has another year of development reassures me. I agree it can turn some people off but those people often don't consider that games take time and time makes great games.

I see the opposite. I’ve seen a lot of people get more interested with the game. Most of them dismissed the game as “just another zombie game” before this coverage. Also, I disagree that there’s nothing new. I definitely see new things. Since it’s a zombie game, it may be better to compare it to other zombie games. The game is open world with an emphasis on how the weather can really affect the gameplay systems which cannot be found in other zombie games. Crafting is handled differently since it involves some sort of decision-making (do you use it to repair weapons, your bike, etc.) The horde mechanic is definitely unique to this game. I think they will be covering this mechanic as well. They are also putting focus on how dynamic the encounters in this game is (the dynamic ambushes present in the game). At surface level, it looks like it does nothing new. But, it definitely adds its own flavor to the genre. I also like how they handled the different enemy types and how they wanted to create an ecosystem like Horizon does. In horizon, you get docile machines alongside aggressive machines. In this one, you get freakers and newts(adolescent infected) in one area.

i dont think the gameplay would changed all much if they had chosen to showcase it later when it's outside alpha, it would definitely be more polished but not that different gameplay wise, imo. Changing core stuff like that might require more time than what they already have, which is next year most likely, unless they push it back further to 2020.
